Abstract

The invention relates to a cable duct (1) to be arranged in the region of a covering (2), which has covering elements and is to be laid on a flat substrate, in particular floor, wall or ceiling covering, with at least one elongate, lower-side base profile (3) and at least one elongate, upper-side top profile (4), wherein at least one cable receptacle (5) is provided between the base profile (3) and the top profile (4), wherein the top profile (4) can be connected detachably to the base profile (3), and wherein an edge-side top limb (8, 9) is provided on at least one longitudinal side (6, 7) of the top profile (4). In order to be able to lay the cable duct in a simple manner, the invention proposes that a resting limb (12, 13), which runs parallel to the substrate, is provided on at least one longitudinal side (10, 11) of the base profile (3), with the result that a slot-shaped receptacle (16, 17) for the covering (2) is provided in the edge region (14, 15) of the cable duct (1) between the resting limb (12,13) and the top limb (8, 9).
