Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et appareil de codage vidéo échelonnable spatial intra-trames. Le procédé effectue le codage d'un train de bits vidéo de couche de base à faible résolution à partir d'une vidéo de couche de base à faible résolution au moyen d'un codeur de couche simple, et effectue le codage d'une couche d'enrichissement dans laquelle des images vidéo individuelles sont représentées par des coefficients d'ondelettes pour une sous-bande résiduelle LL, une sous-bande HL, une sous-bande LH, et une sous-bande HH. La sous-bande résiduelle LL est générée sous la forme d'une différence d'une sous-bande LL et une version récupérée du train de bits vidéo de couche de base.
