Abstract

The invention relates to a noise-modifying device for modifying predetermined noise levels of a noise-producing installation. The noise-modifying device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one piezoelectric film sensor (24a,..., 24I) which is arranged in relation to the noise-producing installation, said at least one piezoelectric film sensor (24a,..., 24I) being operable to convert the acoustic wave energy to an electro-acoustic signal, and one or more electric circuits which electrically communicate with the at least one piezoelectric film sensor (24a,..., 24I) to receive the electro-acoustic signals and to guide the electric signal to a ground connection (30), or to generate a balancing acoustic wave energy in the proximity of the noise-producing installation, thereby reducing the noise that can be heard outside the noise-producing installation.
