This invention relates to an automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine.
More particularly, this invention relates to an automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine in which auto sequence of various machine operations is made quite smooth and easy with large storage of arbours in minimum space resulting into less stoppages and high productivity and which needs very less floor area and has Ergonomic Design Aspects.
Rubber cot arbour mainly comprises a steel spindle or axle provided with one or two rubber cots used as top rollers in Ring Frame, Speed Frame, Draw Frame, Combers, etc. of cotton/synthetic yarn spinning mills, in the textile industries.
The arbours or top rollers used in Draw Frames or Combers are provided with single long cot upto 400 mm in length in the middle of the axle portion, while the arbours or top rollers used in Ring Frames or Speed Frames are provided with a pair of cots, one each at the two ends of the axle. The cots are preferably made of rubber. A very large number of top rollers or rubber cot arbours are used in a Spinning mill/machine, which work continuously at a high speed. Regular grinding of the rubber cot arbours is required for ensuring quality of yarn by reducing thread breaks and minimizing lap formation. Generally centreless grinding is used for rubber cot arbours of Ring Frames and Speed Frames and λwith center grinding' is used for Draw Frames and Comber Cots.
The grinding machines for manual grinding of cots are known in the prior art which generally comprises of a manual arbour loading and unloading systems which are prone to accidents during loading and unloading of the arbours. Cot size is measured manually and grinding stone dressing is carried out manually which is time consuming resulting into less productivity.
Automatic Rubber Cot grinding machines are also known in the prior art and are available in the market under the brand name 1BERKOL'
® manufactured by ΗUBER + SUHNER'. The existing automatic grinding machine comprises PLC Controlled Rubber Cot arbour auto feeding device, a cot diameter measuring system with automatic
LCD display combined with centerless system in which faulty cot will also be conveyed through the system, centreless grinding system with attachment for Ring Frame and Speed Frame cots, variable table traverse, either manually operated or hydraulically operated and operating programs for grinding to size viz. grinding to a fixed diameter or differential grinding i.e. grinding a specified amount off different diameters, sorting system with or without grinding and means for dressing the grinding wheel.
The main drawbacks or limitations of the existing automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine are as under:- i) Rubber cot arbour storage magazine has low capacity and, hence requires frequent loading and unloading of arbours, needing frequent attention of the operator and taking more time.
ii) Unfinished job arbour magazine entry is over the grinding stone wheel head unit and the exit is from the back side of the grinding wheel resulting into inline or angular longer path, making the machine operations complicated and needing more floor space even with low capacity.
iii) Rubber Cot diameter measuring system is combined with centreless grinding device which is complicated and takes more time, thereby affecting production rate of the machine.
iv) Ergonomic design aspects are absent resulting into complicated operations not suitable for operator, not suitable for easy maintenance, not suitable for visibility of operations by operator and machine is not compact,
v) Large number of drive elements and complicated mechanism causing non smooth working of auto sequence and not serving the purpose of full automation.
vi) Various steps of conveying system are complicated and non sequential resulting into more stoppage and low productivity of the grinding machine.
The main object of this invention is to obviate the above mentioned drawbacks and limitation of the automatic cot arbour grinding machine and to provide an automatic rubber Cot arbour grinding/buffing machine which has large storage capacity of magazines for storing unfinished as well as finished arbours in minimum space and both the storage magazines are provided on one side of the grinding head unit and which has low branching of conveying system making non complicated shorter path and machine occupying less floor space with high capacity, less stoppage and high productivity.
Another object of this invention is to provide an automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine in which cot diameter measuring device is separated from centreless grinding device making the operation sequential and faster resulting iηto higher productivity.
Another object of this invention is to provide ,an automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine which is quite compact and having
Ergonomic Design Aspects suitable for easy operation/ easy maintenance and proper visibility of operations by the operator.
