A READING DESK
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a reading desk that a user can support a book to read, and in particular to a reading desk in which a book can be stably supported even when user reads a book while lying down and turning pages.
[2]
Background Art
[3] Generally, a conventional reading desk comprises a support plate which supports a back side of a book, a support member which is provided on the support plate and supports a lower side of a book, and a fixing piece which supports a front side of a book opened.
[4] In addition, when a reading desk gets upright or is upside down so that a user reads a book lying down, a support force of a fixing piece is not enough to stably support a thick book or a large book, so that the book hangs down or falls down. Even when a book is fixed, it is needed to repeatedly turn pages to see the next page.
[5]
Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[6] Accordingly, it is an object to provide a reading desk which overcomes the problems encountered in the conventional reading desk.
[7] It is another object of the present invention to provide a reading desk which is able to stably support even when a book is supported on a support plate and faces down. It is possible to stably support a book on a reading desk without movements using a fixing rod irrespective of a thickness and weight of a book for thereby achieving a stable and easier use.
[8]
Technical Solution
[9] To achieve the above objects, there is provided a reading desk which integrally includes a support member rotatably engaged at a lower side of a support plate with the help of a hinge at a right angle, and a fixing piece which is rotatably thread-engaged on the support member which comprises a book fixture which fixes a book with a fixing rod of which one end is fixed at a center of the support member, and the other end is fixed at the fixing plate of the upper center of the support plate in a vertical direction; a page fixture of which one end is fixed at a center of the support plate with a transparent band connected in a horizontal direction, and the other end passes through a back side
of the support plate and is fixed by means of an adjusting button; and an adjusting member which is installed on a back side of the support plate and in which an adjusting button movable left and right is forwardly protruded. [10]
Advantageous Effects
[11] As the effects of the present invention, it is possible to fix the books irrespective of the thickness of a book with the help of the fixing rod. Turning the pages is easy with a simple work. The pages can be stably fixed with a transparent band and a fixing piece. Since the letters of a book are transparent through the transparent band, reading the books is easy.

Mode for the Invention
[20] To achieve the above objects, there is provided a reading desk which integrally includes a support member rotatably engaged at a lower side of a support plate with the help of a hinge at a right angle, and a fixing piece which is rotatably thread-engaged on the support member which comprises a book fixture which fixes a book with a fixing rod of which one end is fixed at a center of the support member, and the other end is fixed at the fixing plate of the upper center of the support plate in a vertical direction; a page fixture of which one end is fixed at a center of the support plate with a transparent band connected in a horizontal direction, and the other end passes through a back side of the support plate and is fixed by means of an adjusting button; and an adjusting member which is installed on a back side of the support plate and in which an adjusting button movable left and right is forwardly protruded.
[21] The book fixture includes a fixing rod of which one end is rotatably fixed at a center of the support member with a universal joint, and the other end is fixed at the fixing plate provided at the upper center of the support plate and having a U shaped groove so that it is open forwards for thereby fixing the book and operating as a bookmark; and a slide plate which is provided at the fixing plate is movable left and right and has a hook shaped first passage for thereby fixing the fixing rod.
[22] The adjusting unit includes a second passage in a horizontal direction so that it is open backwards from the back side of the support plate, and a tooth shaped engaging groove is formed at an upper side or a lower side of the second passage, and an adjusting button moving left and right along the second passage is inserted, and an elastic piece is inserted corresponding to the adjusting button.
[23] The preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[24] Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating a construction of a reading desk according to the present invention, and Figure 2 is a perspective back view illustrating a reading desk according to the present invention.
[25] The reading desk according to the present invention comprises a support plate 10, a support member 12 and a fixing piece 13.
[26] The horizontal length of the support plate 10 corresponds to the left and right sides of a book. The length of the vertical side is a preferred A4 size longer than the length of a common book and is formed in a rectangular shape. A support member 12 is vertically formed at a lower side of the support plate 10. The support member 12 has a horizontal surface so that the lower side of the book can substantially support. The support member 12 is engaged with a hinge 11 so that it rotates at a right angle with respect to the support plate 10.
[27] The fixing piece 13 is installed at both sides of a thickness portion of the support member 12 for fixing the book. The fixing piece 13 is thread-engaged and rotates 360 degrees, and is made of a flexible metallic material and has a substantial elastic force irrespective of the thickness of the book.
[28] A book fixture 20 is formed between the support member 12 and the support plate
10. The book fixture 20 is a means for stably fixing the book without movements.
[29] The book fixture 20 is shown in the drawings.
[30] Figure 3 is an enlarged view illustrating a fixing plate in which a fixing rod is fixed according to the present invention. Figure 5 is an enlarged view illustrating an adjusting member according to the present invention. Figure 6 is an enlarged view illustrating an operation that a fixing rod is fixed at a fixing plate according to the present invention.
[31] As shown in Figures 3, 4 and 6, the book fixture 20 comprises a fixing rod 22 of
which one end is fixed at the universal joint 23 being rotatable at the center of the support member 12, and the other end is provided at an upper center portion of the support plate 10 and is fixed at the fixing plate 21 having a U shaped groove for being open from the inner side for thereby fixing the book and operating as a bookmark, and a slide plate 25 which is provided at the fixing plate 21 and is movable left and right and has a hook shaped first passage 24 for thereby engaging the fixing rod 22.
[32] The fixing rod 22 is detachable and rotatable at 180 degree owing to the universal joint 23 being rotatable.
[33] When the book is fixed by means of the fixing rod 22, the tightened state of the fixing plate 21 is loosened, and the fixing rod 22 is detached from the fixing plate 21, and the book is engaged at the support plate and the support member of the reading desk, and the fixing rod 22 is pushed up like the book mark in a vertical direction and is inputted into the U shaped groove of the fixing plate 21 and the hook shaped first passage 24 of the slide plate 25 for thereby returning to the original position, and the slide plate 25 of the fixing plate 21 is moved left and right for thereby preventing the fixing rod 22 from being escaped from the hook shaped first passage 24 for thereby fixing the book.
[34] The first passage 24 has a certain interval for an easier pass of the fixing rod 22 and has a certain shoulder for preventing an easier detachment from the first passage 24. The fixing rod 22 is made of a metallic material or a wooden material. The cross section of the fixing rod 22 is circular, rectangular, hexagonal or pentagonal and has a certain thickness so that the book can be stably supported. The length of the fixing rod 22 corresponds to the vertical length of the support plate 10 so that the fixing rod 22 is inserted into the first passage 24 of the fixing plate 21 and is moved.
[35] Almost books can be supported with the help of the fixing piece 13 and the book fixture 20. In case that the left and right page sides of a thick book unfolded are not same, the support piece engaged at the support member is weakened, and the pages may return to more page side of the unfolded book, so that it is impossible to maintain a unfolded state of the book. So, it is needed to overcome the above problem. In the present invention, there is provided a page fixture 30 for stably fixing the pages.
[36] The page fixture 30 is horizontally formed at the center of the support plate 10.
[37] The page fixture 30 is preferably made of a transparent flexible synthetic resin.
[38] The page fixture 30 is provided with a transparent band 31 having a certain width for substantially covering the book placed on the support member 12. At this time, one end of the transparent band 31 is fixed at one side of the support plate 10, and the other end of the same passes through the other edge portion of the support plate 10 and is extended toward the backside of the support plate 10. Since letters are transparent through the transparent bank 31, reading the books is easy.
[39] The adjusting member 40 is formed on the back side of the support plate 10 for adjusting the transparent band 31 which passes through the back side of the support plate 10.
[40] Figure 5 is an enlarged view of the adjusting member of the present invention.
[41] The adjusting member 40 is provided with a second passage 42 formed in a horizontal direction so that it is open backward on the back side of the support plate 10, and a tooth shaped engaging groove 43 is formed on an upper or lower side of the second passage 42.
[42] An adjusting button 41 moves left and right along the second passage 42. The elastic piece 44 corresponds to the adjusting button 41. The length of the transparent band 31 is preferably a length which is extended when the adjusting button 41 moves toward one end of the second passage 42.
[43] The operation of the reading desk according to the present invention will be described as follows.
[44] Before the book is placed on the reading desk, the adjusting button 41 of the adjusting unit 40 is moved toward the other direction for thereby loosening the transparent band 31. The fixing rod 22 is pulled in the direction of the user so that the book is supported on the reading desk, and the book is placed on the reading desk, and the book is mounted inside the transparent band 31. The fixing rod 22 is inserted into the bookmark of the book and is fixed at the fixing plate 21 positioned on the upper surface of the support plate. In this state, the adjusting button 41 of the adjusting unit 40 is moved in the other direction so as to elastically pull the page fixture 30, so that a user starts reading.
[45]
Industrial Applicability
[46] In the present invention, since it is possible to stably fix the book unfolded and placed on the support plate without movements in left and right directions, the user can conveniently use the reading desk of the present invention. In particular, a displayed person who should read books lying down can conveniently use the reading desk of the present invention.
