Abstract
Having a new design for a Mechanical (Automatic) Pencil, to clutch Rectangular Base Leads instead of Rounded Base Leads. So some modifications must be made to the Prior Art, which have been made for the Rounded Base Lead,. A Mechanical Pencil for Rectangular Leads, is a brand new and it would help, Calligraphers, Designers, Plastic Artist, Architects, and others, in their works and it would save their time, their exerted efforts in sharpening a Wooden Pencil to have a Flat Point. Through the new Mechanical Pencils with Its new Rectangular Refill one would have many sizes of Flat Leads. N.B the main idea is a Mechanical Pencil with Flat (Rectangular) Point Lead, but the mechanic design can be designed in many different ways.

Mechanical (Automatic) Pencil for Rectangular Leads
Technical Field:
Manufacturing Mechanical (Automatic) Pencil and its Refill (Leads)
Background Art:
Mechanical Pencil (Automatic Pencil) is the modern developing for pencils but When draftsamen, sketches designers, Calligraphers and other use the Mechanical Pencil all the time get fixed line thicknesses! So they are forced to use the wooden pencil which they can trim, by a pencil sharpener, razor or knife, to obtain acuminate point or flat point, this is wasting time,
Lead ore losses, and they never ever could get thicknesses desired and also using a razor or a knife might be unsafe.
Disclosure of Invention:
Modifications for shortcoming in prior art,
1 -Modifying the Jaw Chuck of the Mechanical Pencil to grip
Rectangular Leads instead of Rounded Leads.
2- Adjusting the front part of the Mechanical Pencil, which the Lead goes across it, from a Rounded Cutting Barrel to a Rectangular Cutting Barrel.
3-Adjusting the inside and outside Body of the Mechanical Pencil.
Whereas the inner Body vertically moving and not circularly that is for safekeeping the Leads meanwhile replacing them or during the use of the Mechanical Pencil. - Modifying the Leads to be in Rectangular Shape instead of
Rounded Shape.
Description in detail:
1- Flat Point Lead:
The Leads with Rectangular shape base made of the same raw material that is still used in the prior art.
2- The Front Part of The Mechanical Pencil:
It is shaped, as shown in the Illustrative Drawing, like a Barrel with rectangular cutting to allow the Rectangular Lead to go across it.
3- The Jaw Chuck:
It is the moving piece [Retractable Sleeve], which when it is pushed at the top of the Mechanical Pencil, lets the Lead comes out in calculated norm, also it clutches and unlooses Leads.
4- Lookring (Snap Ring):
To restrain the top of the Jaw Chuck, to clutch the Lead, as it shown in the Illustrative Drawing.
5- External Body of the Mechanical Pencil:
It is in Barrel shape with a hole in one side, to allow accessing of a Screw-Bolt which It goes down into engraved gat in the Jaw Chuck (Retractable Sleeve) to prevent it from circular moving and allows vertical moving only, this to protect the Leads from breaking. And also, there is another hole on the top, as it shown the Illustrative Drawing, this hole is opposite to the embossed piece in the front part to fix it with the Body of the Mechanical Pencil.
6- Nut:
It is designed precisely to tighten up the Front Part with the Body, to prevent circular moving and to keep safety for the Flat Leads. All the rest parts stay the same as in the prior art.
Brief Description of Drawing:
Fig., 1 Flat (Rectangular shape) Lead goes across Fig., 2 a Barrel which it is considered as guideline to the Lead. The Lead outreaches till it comes to Fig.3 the Jaw Chuck (Retractable Sleeve) and the Jaw Chuck clutches the Lead.
Fig., 4 is a Lookring (Snap Ring) to restrain the top of the Jaw Chuck.
The rest of the Jaw Chuck (Retractable Sleeve) is gone inside
Fig., 5 the Mechanical Pencil Body.
The Body and the Barrel are ruled from outside by Fig., 6 a Nut
And there is no circular moving, to insure the protection of the Lead, whilst it is allowed for the Lead to move just vertically.
Fig., 7 The Screw-bolt is used, as it shown in the Illustrative Drawing, in front of a gap in headrace of the Jaw Chuck (Retractable Sleeve).
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention:
Using a PVC Plastic Injection Moulding Machine, and new moulds must be made precisely for every piece to be produced separately, then the pieces can be assembled later.
Industrial Applicability:
1. Essential Manufacturing steps to produce a new Mechanical Pencil which can hold Rectangular shape Leads:
A. To be made of Plastic:
It needs a PVC Plastic Injection Moulding Machine, and new moulds must be made precisely for every piece to be produced separately, and then the pieces can be assembled later.
B. To be made of Metal only, or Metal & Plastic:
A special Assembly Line must be made by some experts.
