Abstract

Nail clippers having a double hinge mechanism to reduce the effort needed to cut nails. The nail clipper includes a gripping section and a cutting section. The gripping section includes a first handle, a second handle and a pivot connection for pivotally connecting the first handle and the second handle. The cutting section is connected to the gripping section and includes a first member having a first blade extending at least partially along an edge thereof and hingedly attached to the first handle of the gripping section. A second member has a second blade extending at least partially along an edge thereof and hingedly attached to the second handle of the gripping section. A blade hinge is positioned between the first and second members. The first and second members are each pivotally connected to the blade hinge.
