Abstract
The invention relates to a process for treating what are termed food waste reject-containing wastewaters, in which further treatment proceeds in an aerobic biological stage. To avoid overloading the systems, according to the invention these food waste reject-containing wastewaters are treated separately. Biomass, for example from the surplus sludge of an aerobic sewage treatment plant, is added to the bulk stream in which food waste reject fractions are present, wherein this mixture is subjected to an aerobic treatment. In advance, this bulk stream can be subjected to an at least partial solid separation. A device for carrying out this process is expediently constructed as a reactor (10) which is constructed separately from a device such as a further reactor for treating a main wastewater stream, and therefore is also retrofittable. The invention is suitable, in particular, for offshore facilities such as ships.
Description
Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur Behandlung von so genannten Food-Waste- Reject-haltigen Abwässern sowie eine Verwendung Method and device for the treatment of so-called food-waste-reject wastewaters and a use
The invention relates to a method for the treatment of so-called food waste reject (often also short food reject) containing wastewaters, a device and a particular use of the device and the method.
Their disposal must be regarded as very problematic. These food waste rejects typically consist of food waste and kitchen waste of all kinds and have extremely high BOD5, COD and solids concentrations. Although a mostly upstream crushing and Feststoffabsiebung or separation allows a partial solids retention and thus a partial Entfrachtung, but the aforementioned problem is not eliminated. Food-waste-reject wastewaters have BOD5 concentrations above 20 g / l and TS concentrations around 10 g / l, so that the volume flow of this effluent is more likely to be a sludge than a sludge
Abwasserstrom gleicht. Wastewater flow is equal. This is due to the unfavorable separation properties of these materials.
In the case of the offshore facilities in question, the treatment of the remaining wastewater takes place in an aerobic biological stage, an aerobic treatment plant. The aforementioned food waste reject-containing wastewater are treated for lack of suitable other treatment technologies in such an aerobic treatment plant together with the other wastewater. This leads to extreme load peaks and associated operational issues such as temporary oxygen deficiency, extreme excess sludge waste and congestion of the biomass separation systems and the like, and ultimately significant worsening of the overall system runoff.
Dies ist zwar fürFor such effluents or thin sludges, therefore, an anaerobic treatment would be preferable, for example, in a biowaste fermentation plant. This is true for
Accumulation points on land practicable and is also practiced, however, for seizure points on off-shore facilities, especially ships, an anaerobic treatment for safety reasons is not allowed, especially because of methane fermentation. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a treatment method and a corresponding device, by which overcomes the disadvantages mentioned and in particular an efficient treatment option for food waste reject-containing wastewater is achieved.
The object is achieved by a method according to claim 1 and a device according to claim 4.
According to the invention, the food waste reject-containing effluents are treated separately from the other effluents. According to the invention, the food waste reject-containing effluents are subjected to an aerobic treatment, together with excess sludge of an aerobic treatment plant, in particular the biological main stage, in which regular excess sludge is obtained, with a concentration of 10-30 g / l by membrane filtration is possible.
It is expedient to carry out a comminution and a solids separation in advance for the food-waste reject-containing wastewaters. Advantageously, there is a regular or parameter-related inoculation with the biomass to be supplied, in particular from the excess sludge, so that always sufficient biomass is present and can be adjusted in parameter dependence even in degradation inhibitions in the overall system.
According to the invention according to claim 4, this treatment is carried out in a separate reactor, so that a retrofit can be done. In support of the biocenosis in the reactor via process air, such as atmospheric oxygen or technical pure oxygen, and a suitable distribution system, a stirrer in the reactor can be installed.
Due to the low volume flows and the high input-side concentrations of food waste reject and the biomass, as surplus sludge from the aerobic treatment plant, the inventively designed reactor can be operated without additional separation and concentration of the active biomass. The excess sludge from the aerobically operating reactor for the treatment of food waste reject-containing wastewater can be fed to the usual sludge dewatering or other aftertreatment.
entstehenden Materials entscheidend vereinfacht. According to the invention, the volumetrically very small, but freight-related very significant part stream is treated in a small volume and thereby transferred to a mold, the subsequent treatment steps such as mechanical dewatering of material significantly simplified. In this way, the "actual" aerobic biological stage treating the other wastewater can be relieved of 20-35% and, above all, the extreme load peaks that would otherwise result from the uncontrolled addition of food waste reject-containing wastewater can be avoided.
The invention will be explained with reference to the device according to the invention shown in the single figure of the drawing.

Wastewater and the supplied biomass supplied via a supply line 4, wherein a distribution system for the process air is not shown in detail. In addition, an agitator may be provided. As a result, a uniform distribution of the process air and mixing in the suspension is possible. Optionally, a defoamer can be metered via a line 6. Finally, 3 macerated solids can optionally be fed from a pre-screening via a line. Excess biomass can, if appropriate with the aid of a pump, be discharged via a line 5, specifically for disposal or other utilization.
It can be seen that the reactor 10 can also be designed as a retrofittable unit for use in existing offshore installations.
It should be noted that in off-shore facilities, especially on ships, the wastewater is collected and cached in various systems. Gray water, black water, kitchen water and laundry wastewater usually flow to the usual biological stages of an aerobic wastewater treatment plant. The hitherto customary supply of food-waste reject-containing wastewater can be avoided by the erfϊndungsgemäße approach, whereby the otherwise resulting problems can be overcome.
