Description

Description
SYSTEM FOR WEB SITE SEARCHING AND THE METHOD
THEREOF
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates, in general, to a system for providing a search window for one or more Internet websites currently being accessed and a search method using the same, and, more particularly, to a search system for providing a current site search window, which enables users, who use the Internet, to search the content of any Internet websites currently being accessed regardless of the type of website, and a search method using the same. Background Art
[2] The Internet has become widely used for personal or business purposes to the extent that modern people could not live without the Internet.
[3] In particular, people can acquire an almost unlimited amount of information through the Internet, and it has been said that there is nothing that cannot be found on the Internet.
[4] However, although a massive amount of information can be acquired over the
Internet, it is not easy to accurately search the massive amount of information for desired information. Therefore, a number of search engines, such as NAVER, Empas, Yahoo, and Google, have been widely used.
[5] However, in an Internet search using a search engine, such as NAVER or Empas, the website of a corresponding search engine should be accessed and then the search should be performed only within the corresponding website, so that the search cannot be performed in one or more sites other than the website corresponding to the search engine.
[6] Therefore, in order to search the Internet for information, when one or more general
Internet websites, other than the website of a search engine, are accessed, and content included in the corresponding websites is searched for desired information, there is a problem in that all pages of the general Internet websites should be accessed and read in order to search for desired information. Disclosure of Invention
Technical Problem
[7] Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a search system for providing a search window, which enables a user to search for content in any Internet website, and a search method using the same. Technical Solution
[8] In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a search system, including one or more website servers; and a user computer capable of accessing websites, provided by the website servers, over a network; wherein a current site search window, for displaying the results of a keyword search of one or more currently opened websites using a keyword entered by a user, is installed on the user computer; and wherein the current site search window includes: a keyword input box for enabling a user to enter a keyword to search for; and a control unit for performing a search in the currently opened websites using the keyword entered through the keyword input box, and displaying the results of the search on the user computer.
[9] Preferably, the current site search window further includes a search engine selection section for displaying a list of search engines and allowing the user to select a desired search engine; and the control unit performs a search in the currently opened websites and the website of the designated search engine using the keyword entered through the keyword input box, and simultaneously displays the results of the search of the currently opened websites and the results of the search of the website of the designated search engine on the screen of the user computer.
[10] Preferably, the current site search window further includes a new window- opening- selection section for enabling the selection of whether to display the results of the search performed using the keyword in a new window; a site search selection section for, when performing a search using the keyword entered by the user, selecting whether to perform a search only in the website of a search engine designated by the user, or to perform a search in one or more currently accessed websites as well as the website of the designated search engine; and a search window hide button for enabling the current site search window to be converted into a small icon on the screen of the user computer.
[11] In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a search method, including installing a current site search window for performing a search in one or more currently accessed websites in a user computer; when a user launches a web browser in the user computer, displaying the installed current site search window in the web browser; requesting a search by entering a keyword, which the user desires to search for, in the current site search window; and displaying the results of a search of the one or more currently opened websites using the keyword in the web browser.
[12] Preferably, the requesting the search includes selecting whether to perform a search only of the one or more currently opened websites, only of the website of a designated search engine, or of both the website of the designated search engine and the one or more currently opened websites. [13] Preferably, the displaying the results of the search includes classifying and simultaneously displaying the results of the search on the user computer when the search is requested to be performed both in the website of the designated search engine and in the one or more currently opened websites.
Advantageous Effects
[14] According to the present invention, there is an advantage in that, when only a current site search window is installed on a user computer, it is possible to search for content in any Internet website, even though the Internet websites are not the websites of search engines. [15] Further, since a search can be simultaneously performed both in the website of a search engine and in one or more currently opened websites, there is an advantage in that a user can perform a search both in the website of a desired search engine and in one or more currently opened websites without moving from the currently opened websites to the website of the search engine.
