Abstract

A dispenser (10) comprising an enclosure (12) for a substance (14) to be dispensed, a valve mechanism (18, 20) attached to the enclosure (12) and defining a variable-sized aperture (38) through which a substance (14) may be dispensed from the enclosure (12), and a temperature-sensitive element (26) operable to change shape in response to a change of temperature of the element (26), the element (26) being so arranged that a change of shape of the element (26) in response to a change of temperature of the element (26) operates the valve mechanism (18, 20) to vary the size of the aperture (38).
