Description

"BRACELET WITH AN ATTACHED COMMAND DEVICE". This report relates to a bracelet with an attached command device and, more specifically, to a bracelet for personal use, whose structure includes an electronic device which, by means of a sound identifier activated by the user's voice, makes it possible to remotely command any type of equipment whose control system is compatible with said electronic command device.
As is generally known, there currently exist for sale a number of remote command devices, more widely known as remote controls or remotes, which allow users to operate electro-electronic equipment including, but not limited to, audio and video, ambient lighting and air conditioning units.
Said conventional command device is generally composed of a circuit board mounted to an encasement with an alphanumeric keyboard. Said keyboard is to be operated by a user in such a way that, every time a key is pushed, the circuit within emits an infrared signal which, when reaching the infrared transceiver provided to a piece of electro-electronic equipment, permits functional control thereof.
Although widely and satisfactorily used, such conventional remote controls present some drawbacks, including the fact that they necessarily force users to direct or point the infrared signal emitter to the infrared signal transceiver existing in the equipment in order for the command to be complied with.
Another drawback observed in conventional remote controls relates to the fact that, however compact, their constructive concept configures a tabletop device for common use by all occupants of a room. Another drawback observed in conventional remote controls relates to the fact that each remote is exclusively dedicated to one specific electro-electronic apparatus. There are the so-called "universal remote controls," which, nonetheless, do not universally fit all types of remotely operated equipment.
It is therefore an object of this invention to provide a bracelet with an attached command device that does not force its user to direct or point the infrared signal emitter to the infrared signal transceiver existing in the equipment in order for the command to be complied with.
It is another object of this invention to provide a bracelet with an attached command device that is for personal, individual use, and intended for each specific user, who is individualized by said device. It is yet another object of this invention to provide a bracelet with an attached command device, whose operation is not exclusively dedicated to one specific electro-electronic apparatus, being capable of being programmed to control as many apparatuses as are made compatible with and/or adapted to the command system. It is an additional object of this invention to provide a bracelet with an attached command device which operates and/or controls, in a diversified manner, any type of equipment provided with a servo-operating device.
It is a further object of this invention to provide a bracelet with an attached command device which, by means of bidirectional communication, informs the user of the status of the apparatus being commanded. Such information can be conveyed through a loudspeaker, by means of a synthesized voice, or, if the bracelet possesses a display, the information can be conveyed by a written message.
It is a still further object of this invention to provide a bracelet with an attached command device that enables its user to remotely command equipment, provided that said equipment possesses compatible transceivers mounted thereto. These and other objects and advantages of this invention are achieved by a bracelet with an attached command device comprising an annular- section profiled laminar piece capable of being mounted around a user's wrist; said piece may or may not internally incorporate an electronic device provided with a programmable sound identifier which permits recording and identifying a user's voice, as well as the type of command decoded, transforming, by means of a decoder, this voice command into a radiofrequency signal which, in turn, is emitted by a transceiver incorporated in the laminar piece, for identification and conversion into an operating signal identifiable by a compatible radio frequency transceiver adapted to or incorporated in a given piece of electro-electronic or other equipment commanded by a servo assisted mechanism; said laminar piece being provided with small function selection and reset buttons which permit commands for recording and changing the menu of functions to be preselected for remote control. If the identifier is not mounted to the bracelet, it can be incorporated in the transceiver, making it possible for the RF signal to be identified in this set (transceiver/identifier) and, in turn, transmitted to the electro- electronic units one wishes to command.
This invention will be described below with reference to the attached drawing, wherein:
Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a model of the bracelet with an attached command device;
Figure 2 represents a plan view of the bracelet with an attached command device illustrated in figure 1 ; Figure 3 represents a schematic view of the operation of the bracelet with an attached command device vis-a-vis any piece of electro- electronic equipment; Figure 3a represents a schematic view of the operation of the bracelet with an attached command device vis-a-vis any piece of electro- electronic equipment; and
Figure 4 represents a cellular network formed by the transceivers.
It should be noted that, although the illustration shows one single electro-electronic apparatus being commanded by the bracelet with an attached command device 1 , said bracelet can remotely and simultaneously command a plurality of electro-electronic apparatuses A, provided that said apparatuses are provided with a signal reception means compatible with transceiver T of bracelet 1 and have been duly programmed or selected on the programmable sound identifier that permits recording and identifying the user's voice.
As can be seen in figure 1 , the bracelet with an attached command device 1 comprises an annular-section profiled laminar piece 1 , which possesses such low thickness as to permit mounting around the wrist of user P - see figure 3. Said laminar piece 1 may or may not internally incorporate an electronic device 2 provided with a programmable sound identifier which permits recording and identifying the voice V of a user P, as well as registering or selecting the type of apparatus A to be commanded.
With this sound programming, which individualizes and personalizes the voice V of the user P of bracelet 1 , it is feasible that the voice V command, prerecorded and identified with the operating function of a plurality of apparatuses A to be monitored, guarantee that the function commanded by voice V is transformed into a specific radio frequency signal RF, which, in turn, is emitted by a transceiver T incorporated in the laminar piece 1 , to operate apparatus A, provided or not with a compatible transceiver T. It should be noted that the laminar piece 1 has commands for the apparatuses recorded in its memory, said commands being represented by a default voice Vp which changes preselected functions for the remote control of apparatuses. Said radio frequency signal RF emitted by the bracelet is identified by a signal transceiver T, provided or not in apparatus A, and converted into an electro-electronic signal that electronically operates or commands the functions of said given apparatus A by means of a servo assisted mechanism.
According to figure 3a, another likely embodiment of this invention corresponds to the transceiver T not being internally incorporated in the electro-electronic apparatuses A. In this case, the transceivers are connected to one or several pieces of equipment A through a physical means, making it possible for the radio frequency signal RF to be identified, and then transmitted to the electro-electronic units A one wishes to command. According to figure 4, the transceivers T may form a cellular network, thus increasing the reach of the bracelets 1. Each cellular network is composed of as many apparatuses A as are used and at least two transceivers T, one of them necessarily being incorporated in the bracelet 1. Two or more cellular networks physically situated at distinct locations can be interconnected to each other by means of the Internet, serial connection, Ethernet, CAN, or any other, making it possible for a user to access his apparatuses from other locations, such as, for example, accessing home equipment from work.
The laminar piece 1 is provided with small function selection and reset buttons 3 and a microphone 4, which permit commands for recording and changing the menu functions to be preselected for remote control - see figures 1 and 2.
Thus, in a household, each one of the dwellers can be a user P, P1 , P2 .... Pn of a bracelet 1 where his voice V1 , V2, Vn is recorded and the electro-electronic apparatuses A1 , A2, A ...An that said user wishes to operate are registered, including, for example, audio and video and/or ambient lighting apparatuses, air conditioners and/or microwave ovens, electric stoves, exhaust fans, automated saunas and bathtubs. Thus, each user P, P1 , P2 .... Pn has control over those apparatuses A1 , A2, A...An whose operation he wishes to somehow influence.
The programming of said commands is inherent in the electronic device 2 that is incorporated in the bracelet 1 and can vary from a standard version to a more sophisticated one. Although a preferred concept of this solution has been described and illustrated, it should be noted that other solutions are capable of realization without falling out of the scope of this invention.
