Procédé d'usinage d'une face (1) d'un objet optique (6), comportant une étape de fourniture d'une machine d'usinage qui comporte elle-même : un plateau (1) pour le montage d'un objet à usiner, ce plateau (1), qui comporte une surface de réception (3), étant orientable angulairement autour d'un axe transversal à la surface de réception (3); une broche (8) adaptée à entraîner un outil d'usinage (9) en rotation autour d'un axe sensiblement parallèle à la surface de réception (3) du plateau (1) et adaptée à déplacer cet outil d'usinage (9) en translation dans un plan sensiblement parallèle ou perpendiculaire à la surface de réception (3) du plateau (1).
