Abstract

An upward flow of sterilized air generated by air convection from an efficient heat air sterilizer, which creates a constantly renewed upward air stream forming a barrier in a building or room to avoid outdoor micro-organisms coming from above to penetrate the area below the air sterilizer level and at the same time creating optional downward air flows of sterilized air to provide healthier breathable air to humans and animals below the air sterilizer level.

Description

LOW COST PROTECTIVE AIR BARRIER AGAINST MICRO-ORGANISMS
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The world is quickly realizing that contaminated air is a major threat to the health of humans and animals.
The avian flu virus is causing the destruction of millions of chickens and other bird flocks in several countries, threatening the world population with a potential human mutated virus for which no defence is known. One of the most effective and inexpensive means of destroying airborne viruses is by heat as per Mafias in EP 0 815 977 patent.
Therefore, there is an urgent need for a virus and other airborne micro-organisms protection for humans and animals, mainly for flocks which are currently being affected. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The invention is generally directed to an economic, preferably maintenance free, method of creating an air barrier to prevent outdoor viruses and other micro-organisms from penetrating the area below the intended air barrier. The invention will include at least one source of continuous preferably sterilized upward air supply to create said air barrier. When carried by air currents outdoor viruses and other microorganisms, being so small and lightweight, will very unlikely penetrate the air barrier created inside buildings by the constant flow of air from the preferably sterilized air source nor will penetrate the area under such air barrier.
Other than providing a method for the creation/formation of the preferably sterilized air barrier, it is an objective of the invention to destroy airborne viruses, bacteria and other micro-organisms already existing inside sheds and buildings.
Another objective of the invention is to provide a helpful protection in buildings against airborne viruses, spores and other micro-organisms that can be airborne voluntarily or not, as in case of biologic war.
Still another objective of the invention is to drastically reduce animal respiratory illnesses and stress by providing the sterilization of the air below said preferably sterilized air barrier.
Other objectives and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description of the preferred embodiments.
The invention accordingly comprises the features of construction, combination of elements, arrangement of parts, combination of steps and procedures, all of which will be exemplified in the constructions and processes hereinafter set forth and the scope of the invention will be indicated in the claims.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
For a full understanding of the invention, reference is made to the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a side view of the invention where (200) is one building, with top windows (230), in which viruses and other outdoor airborne microorganisms may flow, with preferably sterilized air sources (100) creating upward sterilized air flows (110) forming the protective preferably sterilized air barrier (1) and downward preferably sterilized air flows (111) inside environment (210) below preferably sterilized air barrier (1) protecting flocks, animals and human 4 creating a preferably sterilized air barrier (1), formed by upward sterilized air flows (110), preventing the penetration of airborne micro-organisms coming from outdoors and downward preferably sterilized air flows (111) providing purified air for animals (300) and humans consequently reducing stress and respiratory illnesses due to drastic reduction of airborne micro-organisms and allergens in the environment (210). Said downward preferably sterilized air flows (111) are obtained by air deflectors (150), shown in Fig. 4, above the preferably sterilized air sources (100) or by any other possible means.
Another purpose of one of the possible embodiments, as shown in Fig. 1 , of this invention of a method of creating/forming the new protective preferably sterilized air barrier (1) with the use of at least one preferably sterilized air source (100) is the creation of healthy environments (210) in buildings for humans, flocks (300) and other animals drastically reducing the level of airborne micro-organisms such as viruses, bacteria, molds and spores, resulting in reduced stress, respiratory illnesses and lower cross contamination. This healthy environment (210) is created by protection provided by the preferably sterilized air barrier (1) and the constant sterilization of the air present in said environment (210) though the use of the preferably sterilized air sources (100) combined with the optional air deflectors (150) in order to create the downward preferably sterilized air flows (111).
Another embodiment, as seen in Fig. 3, utilizes non purified preferably hot air sources (101) creating just an upward non purified preferably hot air flow (115) forming the protective air barrier (2). The environment (211) under the protective air barrier (2) is thus protected from incoming outdoor contamination by viruses, bacteria and the like. 5 In each of these embodiments, shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 3, the electrical connections (500) to the non purified preferably hot air sources (101) or preferably sterilized air sources (100) are conventional connections as in any electrical circuit used to plug electrical appliances. Fig. 4 illustrates the use of an optional diffuser (150) placed above the preferably sterilized air source (100) in order to deflect the sterilized air flow creating and upward (110) and a downward (111) sterilized air flow, allowing the creation of a larger circular shaped sterilized air barrier (1) as shown in Fig. 2. In other preferred embodiments of the invention, the new microorganism protective preferably sterilized air barrier (1) can be used to protect indoor areas from outdoor contamination and drastic reduction of indoor generated contamination levels such as molds, viruses, allergens, and other indoor airborne micro-organisms. The new micro-organism preferably sterilized air barrier (1) can be generated preferably by sterilized air convection or by a dedicated air flow system associated preferably with an air purifying or sterilizing systems. The dedicated air flow system may include a fan to blow air upward from the preferably sterilized air source (100). It will thus be seen that the objectives set forth above, among those made apparent in the proceeding description, are efficiently obtained and, since certain changes may be made in the above constructions and processes without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention, it is intended that all matter contained in the above description or shown in the accompanied drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative, and not in the limiting sense. 6 It will also be understood that the following Claims are intended to cover all of the generic and specific features of the invention herein described and that all statements of the scope of the invention which, as a matter of language, might be said to fall there between.
