Abstract

A fastening device for detachably joining together a pair of articles of clothing, such as socks comprises male and female fastener portions, each of which is designed to substantially permanently attach to a fabric item, such as one sock of a pair. The male and female fastener portions comprise fastening pins for penetrating and permanently attaching to the fabric material and a removable positioning tab for positioning the male and female fastener portions on the fabric item. The removable positioning tab may be removed once the male and female fastener portions are attached to the fabric items, such as a pair of socks. The male and female fastener portions further comprise male and female threaded locking elements for respectively, detachably securing together the male and female fastener portions and a pair of articles of clothing which are substantially permanently attached to each respective male and female fastener portions.
