Abstract
L'invention concerne un cathéter support capable de percer un septum cardiaque avec un fil de guidage sans se tordre et capable d'atteindre des artères difficiles d'accès comme les artères de la carotide ou des reins à partir de l'aorte dans des circonstances délicates. Le cathéter support contient un corps de cathéter présentant une extrémité proximale, une extrémité distale, et une surface de paroi intérieure définissant un premier passage de tube s'étendant de l'extrémité proximale vers l'extrémité distale. Un second passage de tube se trouve entre la surface de paroi intérieure et une surface extérieure du corps de cathéter. Une pluralité d'éléments raidisseurs entoure le second passage de tube, la pluralité d'éléments raidisseurs pouvant s'engager pour raidir de manière sélective le corps de cathéter. Dans une autre configuration, le cathéter comprend en outre une seconde pluralité d'éléments raidisseurs disposés entre le premier passage de tube et le second passage de tube.
