Abstract

The present invention relates to a freelay covering floor tile especially designed for raised access floors. The peculiarity of the invention consists in the fact that it comprises a tile (11) of ceramic, stoneware or similar material, either natural or recomposed, whose lower side is coupled with a protection layer (13) used to absorb the vibrations caused by walking, being the said layer (13) flattened to optimise planarity and stability of the walking surface obtained by laying a plurality of the said floor tile (10) in adjacent position. The invention also relates to a production process for such a tile, in which the free side of the protection layer (13) is flattened and smoothened by removing an adequate amount of material.
