TECHNIQUE FOR GLUING CLEANING PAPERS WITH FINE PATTERN
Related Art
The invention relates to machines producing cleaning papers such as multi-layered paper towel, toilet paper.
The invention particularly relates to the technique to pattern and gluing multi-layered papers.
Background of the Invention
Different machines have been developed for production of multi-layered paper towel and toilet papers. The said machines pattern layers of towel paper or toilet papers at different assemblies and glue them and make them ready for use. Different techniques are employed to shape and glue plies of towel paper or toilet papers. The most common application is the shaping each ply at different rollers (emboss), contacting thereof with glue and then passing through press roller and gluing. The glued surfaces of the embossed paper ply facing each other contacted with glue are adhered. Keeping glued papers tight while passing through press roller is a gluing option where they have less softness and more cleaning paper in unit area. Keeping papers loose during gluing provides softer rolling but unit area has less cleaning paper. Shaping one of the glued paper and leaving the other unshaped causes tightness of one side and normal tightness of the other during gluing and it leads to shrinking on the paper by time.
A different sample of those applications is seen in the patent application numbered WO2005085526. The said application shows 3 plied cleaning paper. The third ply located in zigzag form in between two plies of the cleaning papers provides increase of distance between plies of the cleaning paper and thus absorption provides required space and softness. The designs to be made on the cleaning paper are in the form supplementing each other on plies of the paper. Before gluing the plies of the cleaning papers such as paper towel and toilet paper, they are rolled onto steel rollers to shape the plies. Each ply shaped on steel roller is completed upon adherence of the two closest plies and then the third ply. To contact the paper plies _ _
forming cleaning paper with glue, the rollers located between glue chamber and shaping rollers transfer the glue from one side to the other.
Different techniques are employed to adhere the plies of cleaning papers such as towel paper, toilet paper. One of the techniques employed is the one where all of the surfaces of the plies forming the cleaning paper to be glued are glued and. then the plies are pressed and adhered to each other. Use of glue in excess amount in layers (plies) can cause decrease in absorption surface between the plies of the cleaning paper. The volume of absorption between plies due to the said gluing technique decreases as well as softness decreases due to the said gluing technique. If the glue adhering the ply surfaces is not solved fully in water due to the said disadvantage, risk of blocking in the plumbing can arise. Excess use of glue can cause excess consumption of the materials during utilization comfort and production. Excess use of glue is not desired in terms of environmental pollution.
If the cleaning paper contains color designs as per preference and two different colors are desired when required, not several options appear in applications where glue is used. Since the color applied to glue is a single color, the diversity of colors cannot be provided. Different techniques such as production by means of giving different colors to embossed designs on the plies of the cleaning papers such as paper towel, toilet paper may be needed.
Purpose of the Invention
From the background of the related art, the purpose of the invention is to eliminate the existing disadvantages with the improvements realized in the machines used for production of cleaning papers such as paper towel, toilet paper.
Another purpose of the invention is to increase the space between the plies of the cleaning paper Thus, more space is provided between plies of cleaning papers and surface softness has been increased and flexible and soft use has been provided. Further that the absorption has been increased. _ _
Another purpose of the invention is to provide less use of glue used in adherence of plies of the cleaning paper. Thus less material consumption and less environmental damage are provided. And more absorption volume in the cleaning paper is provided.
Another purpose of the invention is to color only the embossed designs of the plies of cleaning papers such as paper towel, toilet paper. Thus, a product has an aesthetic difference from classic cleaning paper is obtained.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide adherence of plies of cleaning papers such as paper towel, toilet papers practically by use of less machine components.
In order to achieve the said purposes, improvements where embossed or normal designed multi-plied materials are adhered with glue have been realized in two-plied cleaning papers such as paper towel, toilet papers.
A preferred application of the invention comprising the stages where the first ply is passed through steel roller with pressing and shaped on the roller; the top points of the bulges of the shaped first ply outer surface is glued with a roller whose surface are glued; shaping is realized by means of pressing from a roller having symmetric shape of the first ply design of the surface of the second ply, and both plies are glued with the glue on the first ply of both plies.
A preferred application of the invention is characterized in that the plies of the said cleaning paper are adhered to each other by use of color glue and thus color design is formed on the cleaning paper. A preferred application of the invention is characterized in that it comprises cylindrical rollers containing housings or bulges forming the design on the surface of the said steel roller.
In a preferred application of the invention, the designs on the plies of the said cleaning paper are shaped symmetrically and the bulges glued on the outer surface design of the first ply are glued on the smooth surface outside the second ply.
In a preferred application of the invention, the designs on the plies of the said cleaning paper are shaped symmetrically and the bulges glued in design of outer surface of the first ply are glued to the bulge in outer design of the second ply or _ _
bulges in symmetric form. Thus giue is applied to entire paper in 2-ply production and instead of gluing, only gluing in emboss bulge size is made. Thus, more absorption is provided by means of applying embossing to 2 plies. Thus a cleaning paper without need for a 3rd station is obtained. Thus, since embossing is applied to both 2 plies in 2-ply application, 2-ply space is provided. Therefore, water holding capability is increased. The distance between plies of cleaning paper is increased and space and softness is provided. Thus, glue and ink parts are glued on inner side of the plies facing each other without contact of the user.
In a preferred application of the invention, the obtained design is formed partially in 2 separate plies, and when bulge surfaces of the design embossing are glued, formation of the design is provided. Thus, adherence is conducted by means of glue and color only from designs/decorations. Thus color glues are applied only to design and plies are glued. Therefore, design is formed in 2 separate plies in partial and design is formed when plies are glued. Glue is applied to only one ply and thus material saving is provided, softer cleaning paper is obtained by use of less machines in a shorter time period.
A preferred application of the invention comprises at least one cylindrical steel roller made of material resistant to corrosion, whose surface has designed pattern, where shaping is made by rolling on the first ply in order to shape the first ply of the said cleaning paper.
A preferred application of the invention comprises at least one second ply steel roller in cylindrical form and made of corrosion resistant material, having designed design on its surface and shaped upon rolling onto second ply so as to shape the second ply of the said cleaning paper.
A preferred application of the invention comprises at least one glue adhering roller rotating in contact with the said steel roller in order to apply glue to shaped embossed terminals of the outer surface of the first ply shaped by rolling onto the said steel roller. _ _
A preferred application of the invention comprises at least one glue roller taking glue from glue chamber and fining it and applying it in order to provide that the said glue adhering roller takes the glue in the determined thickness and density.
In a preferred application of the invention, the said steel rollers are axial and angular adjusted in respect to each other.
A preferred application of the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one plastic roller having surface made of flexible material in order to support the steel roller shaping first ply from opposite angle and to provide embossing. A preferred application of the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one second ply plastic roller having surface made of flexible material in order to support the steel roller shaping second ply from opposite angle and to provide embossing.
A preferred application of the invention comprises at least one pressing roller pressing the said paper plies and providing adhering of the said cleaning paper plies to each other after the shaping and gluing process realized at rollers in order to glue the said cleaning paper plies.

Detailed Description of the Invention
The application of the invention given in the figures is cleaning paper production machine. The production machine related to technique of designing multi-ply papers and adherence thereof and production method of the machine are as follows.
In the production method related to cleaning papers such as two-ply (1 , 2) paper towel, toilet paper, where embossed or normal designed multi-ply materials are adhered with glue,
The first ply (1 ) is preferably passed through steel roller with pressing and shaped with design on the roller; the bulges on the outer surface of the shaped first ply (1) are applied with glue with glue roller at peak points; the surface of the second ply (2) is shaped by means of passing it through a pressed roller having symmetric shape of the first ply (1 ); both plies (1 , 2) are attached with the glue on the first ply (1 ).
In a sample application
The first ply (1 ) indicated in figure 1 is subject to the operations indicated in figures 2a, 2b, 2c and made ready for adhering to the second ply (2). The first ply (1 ) is firstly passed in between steel roller (4) and plastic roller (5). All designs on the steel roller (4) as indicated in figure 2a are printed onto first ply (1) entirely. Figure 2b shows the representative view of the shaped first ply (1 ).
The glue (12) in glue chamber (6) is taken by the glue roller (8) during rotation and transferred to glue adhering roller (7). As seen in figure 2b, before leaving of the first ply (1 ) from steel roller (4), it transfers the glue on the surface of glue adhering roller
(7) onto the peak points (13) on the surface of the steel roller (4) with glue adhering roller (7) into the outer surface of the first ply between plastic surface of the glue adhering roller (7) and plastic surface. At the stage indicated in figure 2b and figure 2c, the outer surface of the design remaining in the lower scale is the surface (14) without glue. This surface does not take glue. The glue can be applied as color or transparent glue. _ _
The second ply (2) cleaning paper indicated in figure 3a firstly passes through the space between second ply steel roller (9) and second ply plastic roller (10) and the entire design of the second ply steel roller (9) is printed onto the second ply (2) cleaning paper. Figure 3b shows representative view of the shaped second ply (2).
Both ply paper (1 , 2) with opened embossing contacts to each other at contact point (16) of the steel rollers (4, 9) The first ply (1) cleaning paper has glue and second ply (2) has no glue.
Steel rollers (4, 9) operate in interlock and are driven by the same mechanism. Their axial and angular positions can be adjustable before operation and embossing designs made on the surfaces may seat inside or over each other.
Plies of cleaning paper (1 , 2) contacting each other at contact point (16) are pressed on the steel embossing roller (4) by pressing roller (11) at joining point (15), and adhered to each other and final form is given and leave the adhering unit for rolling. Figure 4a shows the position where first ply (1) and second ply (2) are pressed between press roller (11 ) and steel roller (4). The cleaning paper having its final form as indicated in figure 4b is converted into one single ply cleaning paper (3) by means of gluing the two plies (1 , 2) shaped with designs indicated in figure 2b and figure 3b supplementing each other. If the second ply (2) is joined with first ply (1) without shaping, it takes the appearance of single side designed cleaning paper (3) indicated in figure 4c with the design indicated in figure 3d. The side cross-sectional view of the non-shaped second ply (2) is indicated in figure 3c.
Color design is formed on the cleaning paper by means of adhering cleaning paper plies (1 , 2) to each other with color glue. What forms the resign on surface of steel rollers (4, 9) are the rollers comprising housing or bulges. The designs on the outer surface of the plies of the cleaning paper (1 , 2) are shaped symmetrically and the bulges glued in the design of outer surface of the first ply (1) are glued to smooth surface outside the second ply (2). The designs of plies (1 , 2) of the cleaning paper are shaped symmetrically and the bulges glued in outer surface design of the first ply (1) are glued in indents in form of bulge or symmetric form. The designs obtained in this way are obtained in partial in 2 separate plies and embossing bulged surfaces of _ _
the designs are glued. Gluing can be performed by means of performing embossing design on only one ply. If the joining is made with such type of plies, occurrence of embossing on 1 ply will form extension on 1 side.
The first ply (1) of the plies (1, 2) of the cleaning paper is shaped by means of steel roller (4) made of cylindrical and corrosion resistant material, having designed surface and the first ply (1) is shaped with rolling on the steel roller (4).
The second ply (2) of the plies (1 , 2) of the cleaning paper is shaped by means of second ply steel roller (9) made of cylindrical and corrosion resistant material, having designed surface and the second ply (2) is shaped with rolling on the second ply steel roller (9).
With help of glue adhering roller (7) rotating in contact with steel roller (4), glue is applied to embossed terminals on the outer surface of shaped first ply (1) rolled onto steel roller (4) and adhering in embossed parts is provided. Absorption, surface softness is increased with help of the space left between plies (1 , 2).
With the help of glue roller (8) taking glue from glue chamber and thinning and applying it, the glue adhering roller (7) takes and applies glue in the determined thickness and density. The glue roller (8) transmits the glue (12) taken from glue chamber (6) to the glue adhering roller (7) at determined contact sizes. The quantity of glue transmission can be adjustable as per contact distance and rotation speeds.
The plastic roller (5) having a surface made of flexible material supports steel roller (4) shaping first ply (1) at opposite angle and creates pressure. The steel rollers (4, 9) are axial and angular adjusted in respect to each other. A second ply plastic roller (10) having surface made of flexible material supports and creates pressure to steel roller (9) shaping the second ply (2) at opposite angle.
After shaping and application of glue to cleaning paper plies (1 , 2) at rollers (4, 9), the cleaning paper plies (1 , 2) are glued to each other with help of a pressing roller (11) providing adhering and pressing the said paper plies (1 ,2). Since the glue stays in inner side of the paint, it does not cause any stain to the user. -
The invention cannot be limited to the representative applications given in this section. Alternative embodiments to be developed by persons skilled in the related art based on basic factors under scope of protection stated under claims shall mean violation of the invention.
