Description

IDENTIFICATION BRACELET
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to identification devices, and more specifically to an identification bracelet that includes personal information and unique identification tags, such as fingerprints, of the wearer.
BACKGROUND ART
Numerous methods and devices have been employed to provide identification for people, especially children and the elderly, with special needs or in emergency situations. Various examples include labels or tags that are affixed to articles of clothing and other wearable items such as bracelets, anklets, etc. However, these devices fall short in that they provide identification and information of only the wearer and not anyone else associated with them, such as a parent, guardian, or caretaker. This is especially desirable in situations of emergency, where family members can become separated and have no way of making contact with one another, or allowing the authorities to help them do so.
What is needed is a durable identification bracelet that can be worn around the wrist of a user and provide personal information and unique identification tags, such as fingerprints, of the wearer and an associated family member or other associated person. Tt is also desirable that a kit be provided that simplifies the construction of several such identification bracelets. Thus, an identification bracelet solving the aforementioned problems is desired.
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
The disclosure is directed to an identification bracelet for the wrist of a wearer. The bracelet has a doubJe-sided label that includes the personal information of the wearer. The bracelet is comprised of a pliable, transparent jacket designed to receive the double-sided label. A fastening device is attached to the jacket to secure the bracelet in a closed configuration over the wrist of the wearer.
The disclosure is further directed to a kit for making identification bracelets for the wrists of wearers. The kit includes a sheet of perforated double-sided labels. The double- sided labels each have a space for inscribing the personal information of the wearer and an identification tag for the wearer. The kit further comprises a plurality pliable transparent jackets that are designed to closely receive a single double-sided label. Each jacket has a fastening device for securing the bracelet in a closed configuration over the wrist of the wearer. The kit also includes an inkpad.
