Abstract

A reusable space vehicle for launch, orbital, and re-entry operations in a space transportation system program. The vehicle includes a unitary, single molded hull bottom mated to an airframe with embedded electronic circuitry. An internal component systems module and a crew cabin module are attached to the hull, with the crew cabin including a rocket-away attachment system which employs mechanical latches and rapidly depolarizing electromagnetic seals, and an independent propulsion and maneuvering system.
