  • BACKGROUND Game tickets are known in which the ticket has one or more faces with a number of opaque scratch off areas so that a player can scratch off an area to reveal indicia which is then matched to other indicia which have been exposed by scratching off other opaque areas on the ticket.
  • game tickets may consist of a number of closed windows which can be opened to reveal indicia which is to be matched with indicia exposed by opening other windows on the ticket.
  • Steps which the ticket has a playing surface and an inner and an outer exposure device which are manipulated to reveal the results of the play.
  • Another form of game ticket is manufactured in roll form such as by die-cutting from a continuous web.
  • One such ticket is disclosed in US patent specifications 5,582,888 and 5,871,828 (Volkert) disclose a ticket having pop up elements which are defined by perforations in a matrix or attached to a continuous strip of sheet material.
  • US patent specification 3,900,219 which are in the form of lottery tickets having numbers which are concealed by an opaque sheet. The numbers can be accessed by lifting the cover sheet.
  • US patent specification 5,217,258 discloses yet another form of game ticket which has a first and a second substrate laid back to back. Each substrate includes symbols and break open panels. The ticket can be manipulated so that a substrate can be inverted relative to a second substrate to align panels.
  • Yet another form of gaming ticket is that known as a 'pop-up' and various forms of these are described and illustrated in US patent specifications 4,867,480 (Volkert); 4,774,780 (Crowell); 4,833,802 (Volkert); 4,867,480 (Volkert) and 6,068,903 (Volkert).
  • US patent specification 5,906,063 discloses a greeting card which has front and back panels coupled together by a pivot. One side of the back panel has an illustration with a number of images. An animation sheet covers the primary illustration and includes a secondary illustration depicting images in a different pose.

  • the invention lies in a method of manufacturing a game ticket comprising the steps of: providing an essentially rectangular matrix, forming die cuts on the matrix to delineate two side panels separated by a centre panel, forming spaced apart fold lines which extend across the width of the matrix to form a first section, a second section and a third section, forming a flap on the first section, folding the flap of the first section onto the first section and adhering the flap to the first section, folding the composite first section to lie against a face of the second section, folding the composite second section and adhering the second section to a face of the third section, providing at least one panel on each exposed face of the game ticket, inscribing indicia on at least one panel on each exposed face of the game ticket, obscuring the indicia on at least one panel by a removable media, providing means to temporarily prevent rotation of one panel in respect to a contiguous panel.
  • At least one panel can be rotated through 180° about a contiguous panel and remain connected to the contiguous panel to lie in a substantially co-planar relationship with the contiguous panel after the means to temporarily prevent rotation of the panels has been de-activated.

  • the game ticket may also be formed with a niche 26 which is located at one or both ends of the perforated line 11 to facilitate the removal of the tear off segment 10 from the game ticket.
  • the user will first expose the indicia on the game panes and if the exposed indicia registers with or correlates with other indicia on the ticket in a correct order or sequence, a prize may be claimable.

  • a perforated line or lines 32 can be separated to enable respective panels to be rotated in relation to each other.
  • the tabs 23, 24 are formed at the termination of the perforated lines 32 and the tabs can include an arrow or other information to assist the user in manipulating the ticket.
  • Figure 15 illustrates a form of the ticket which includes a multiplicity of panels 33 and it will be understood that the invention includes a ticket which can have any number of panels as desired.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un ticket de jeu construit à partir d'une seule matrice de carte ou similaire qui est découpée et formée afin d'obtenir au moins deux panneaux qui s'étendent selon une relation coplanaire l'un par rapport à l'autre et qui sont réunis de sorte qu'un premier panneau peut être tourné sur 180 °C relativement à un second panneau pour s'étendre selon une relation coplanaire avec le premier panneau. Chaque panneau présente au moins une face qui comprend une marque qui peut être masquée par un milieu opaque amovible. La construction est telle qu'un panneau ne peut pas être tourné relativement à un autre panneau sans séparation préalable d'un moyen de liaison entre des panneaux adjacents.
