Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant de saisir du texte par mot sur un petit clavier affiché. Le procédé consiste à tracer un circuit de saisie qui commence sur la touche correspondant à la première lettre du mot à saisir ou à proximité de cette touche, passe sur les touches des lettres du mot à saisir en séquence ou à proximité de celles-ci, et se termine à proximité de la touche correspondant à la dernière lettre du mot à saisir. Le circuit de saisie est noté et mis en parallèle avec des mots d'une base de données contenant une indication de la fréquence relative. Un mot orthographié correctement est produit même si le circuit de saisie correspond à un mot mal orthographié. Les mots sont classés en fonction d'une valeur calculée, à partir des distances pondérées entre chaque touche associée, pour déterminer les points du circuit de saisie, puis à nouveau pondérés par la fréquence d'utilisation et d'autres caractéristiques du circuit de saisie. Des choix de mots sont présentés à l'utilisateur afin de réduire à un minimum les erreurs. L'invention concerne également des mécanismes de mise en forme efficaces et d'autres améliorations.
