Abstract

A container (100) includes an improved lock and release mechanism for securing a top structure (S1) to a base structure (S2). The base structure (S2) and top structure (S1) are releasably secured together as a protrusion (156), which extends from a front wall (130), and a groove (164), which is disposed in a flexible portion (158) of a front wall (140), engage one another. The container (100) further includes protrusions (152) and recesses (150) that align the top and base structures (S1 , S2) and constrain the movement of the top and base structures (S1 , S2) relative to one another in a sliding plane such that the lock and release mechanism is not inadvertently released. The flexible portion (158) of the front wall (140) can be displaced to disengage the locking elements (156, 164).

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 29 June 2007 (29.06.07)
1. A container (100), comprising: a first structure (S1), comprising: a first wall (130) comprising a first locking element (156); a second structure (S2), comprising: a second wall (140) having a substantially flexible outer portion (158) and a substantially rigid inner portion that are spaced apart from one another, said outer portion comprising a second locking element (164); wherein said first structure (S1) can be releasably secured to said second structure (S2) as said first wall (130) is disposed to be adjacent to said second wall (140) and said first locking element (156) engages said second locking element (164); and wherein said first locking element (156) can be disengaged from said second locking element (164) by displacing said flexible outer portion (158) of said second wall (140).
2. The container (100) of claim 1, wherein a hinge (120) connects said first structure (S 1) to said second structure (S2).
3. The container (100) of claim 1 , further comprising means for positioning said first structure (S1) with respect to said second structure (S2).
4. The container (100) of claim 3, wherein said means for positioning aligns said first wall (130) with respect to said second wall (140) in a first plane.
