Abstract
A rotor disc for a magnetic bearing comprises a plurality of concentric bands, an outer concentric band (4) and an inner concentric band (6) having a thickness substantially to match respectively outer conductive paths (2) and inner conductive paths (2) of associated electromagnetic coils (1) provided on a stator. The bands provide an axial magnetic field such that together with the coils a radial magnetic bearing is formed.
