Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a wear-resistant coating and to a wear-resistant coating applied to the predetermined surfaces (2) of a machine part (1) exposed to wear by friction. The inventive coating comprises at least one metal-free hydrocarbon amorphous layer (5) which is applied to the predetermined surface (2) of the machine part (1) and contains sp2- and sp3-hybrid carbon for reducing friction and increasing a wear-resistance of said predetermined surface (2) of the machine part (1) and an electric insulation.
