Abstract

The present invention discloses de novo designed and synthesized novel cationic peptides for use as antibiotics and methods of synthesizing the same. These peptides have the following amino acid sequences: ΔF/m: Ac-G-ΔF-R-K-ΔF-H-K-ΔF -W-A-NH2 (SEQ ID NO: 1); U/m: Ac-G-U-R-K-U-H-K-U -W-A-NH2 (SEQ ID NO: 2); F/m: Ac-G-F-R-K-F-H-K-F -W-A-NH2 (SEQ ID NO: 3); dil/m: Ac-G-ΔF-R-K-Δ F-K-A-Δ F -W-H-NH2 (SEQ ID NO: 4); or a derivative thereof.
