Abstract

The invention concerns a composition for treating summer dermatitis in a mammal, comprising i) a base consisting of at least one vegetable oil and ii) at least one active compound consisting in an essential oil selected among, inter alia, essential oils of true lavender, lemon eucalyptus, thyme, rosemary, geranium, noble chamomile, yarrow, basil and/or tea-tree. The invention also concerns the use of such a composition for treating summer dermatitis in an equine, preferably a horse, a pony or a donkey as well as a method for making such a composition.
