Abstract
A method and system of locking clock enable devices to directly extract high precise reference lock on packet network. In the present invention, the characteristic that the minimum transmission delay of packet network is a fixed value is utilized and the minimum transmission delay may be precisely approached by transmitting and receiving sufficient quantity of a set of measurement frames. Reference clock source and clock source to be locked (for example, the clock in a base station) are connected by packet network, two sets of measurement frame successively spaced predetermined time (T) are transmitted and received, two transmission delay minimum values of the packet network are calculated respectively, clock offset between the reference clock source and the clock source to be locked in the period of T is obtained, clock frequency of the clock source to be locked is adjusted according to the clock offset. The transmission of measurement frames can use request transmission mode or periodic transmission mode.
