Description

MIDSOLE OF SHOES AND MIDSOLE MANUFACTURING DEVICE
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a midsole for use in footwear such as a pair of sports shoes, sneakers, or shoes, and more particularly, to a midsole having one or more throughholes which integrally penetrate lateral portions of the midsole, and a midsole manufacturing device therefor, to thereby make the footwear weigh light, increase a cushion of the shoes, and make a warm-keeping effect excellent.
Background Art
Presently, a midsole having one or more throughholes which integrally penetrate lateral portions of the midsole has been registered as Korean Patent Registration No. 144240 to the same applicant as this invention. Especially, in the case of Korean Patent Registration No. 144240 (Korean Patent Publication No. 1996-6819 on March 22, 1996), only a structure of a midsole for use in a pair of sports shoes is disclosed without describing a technical device for manufacturing the midsole. Thus, a device for manufacturing a midsole has been being required. Further, an economical midsole manufacturing device for manufacturing a midsole has been being required. Disclosure of the Invention
To solve the above problems, it is an object of the present invention to provide a midsole having one or more lateral throughholes which integrally penetrate lateral portions of the midsole, to thereby make the footwear weigh light, increase a cushion of the shoes, and make a warm-keeping effect excellent.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a midsole manufacturing device for manufacturing a midsole in which a conventional mold for fabricating lateral throughholes of a midsole is opened up and down only, but a mold for fabricating lateral throughholes of a midsole according to the present invention is opened left and right as well as up and down, to thereby allow the lateral throughholes to have an excellent buffering force and a variety of shapes.
To accomplish the above object of the present invention, according to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a midsole having one or more throughholes which integrally penetrate lateral portions of the midsole, the midsole comprising an expanding edge portion which is extended outwards from the throughholes.
It is preferable that a bottom surface of the midsole is integrally formed without having a joint line.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is also provided a midsole manufacturing device having a mold assembly comprising: a lower mold having a bottom portion formed in a molding groove which is pitted to a certain depth according to a shape of the midsole, characterized in that the lower mold is opened and closed left and right by means of a hinge member, and that protruding pins are formed correspondingly at each of the inner walls of the molding groove in the opened lower mold, in which the rear portion of each of the protruding pins has a certain ramp, or inclined angle with respect to the front portion thereof; and an upper mold on the bottom portion of which a pressurized projecting portion is formed, and which moves up and down.
It is preferable that when the bottom portion is not formed in the molding groove but the molding groove is penetratively formed in the lower mold, a support plate having a protrusion is formed so that a lower end surface of the molding groove closely contacts a lateral portion of the protrusion.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The above and other objects and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing the preferred embodiments thereof in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
FIG.1 is a perspective view of a structure of a mold according to an embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing structure of a lower mold having a molding groove in the FIG. 1 embodiment;
FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing that the lower mold is opened left and right according to another embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 4 is a bottom view of a midsole fabricated using the mold shown in FIG. 3; and
FIG. 5 is a bottom view of a midsole fabricated using the mold shown in FIGs. 1 and 2.
Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention
Hereinbelow, a midsole having one or more throughholes which integrally penetrate lateral portions of the midsole, and a midsole manufacturing device therefor, according to the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Firstly, a midsole having one or more throughholes which integrally penetrate lateral portions of the midsole, according to the present invention is fabricated by a midsole manufacturing device therefor, that is, a mold shown in FIGs. 1 through 3 according to the present invention.
At first, referring to FIG. 3, a structure of the mold according to the present invention includes a lower mold 10 having a bottom portion 11a formed in a molding groove 11 which is pitted to a certain depth according to a shape of the midsole, in which the lower mold 10 is opened and closed left and right by means of a hinge member 100, and protruding pins 12 are formed correspondingly at each of the inner walls of the molding groove in the opened lower mold 10, and an upper mold 20 on the bottom portion of which a pressurized projecting portion 21 is formed, and which moves up and down.
Also, as shown in FIG. 1, the protruding pins 12 are formed on and protrude from the inner wall of the molding groove 11. The rear portion 12b of each of the protruding pins 12 has a certain ramp, or inclined angle with respect to the front portion 12a thereof. That is, the rear portion 12b is thicker than the front portion 12a. In this way, since the rear portions 12b in the protruding pins 12 are formed to have a certain ramp, or inclined angle with respect to the front portion 12a thereof, that is, the rear portion 12b is thicker than the front portion 12a, an expanding edge portion 31a which is extended outwards as shown in FIGs. 4 and 5 is formed around each of the throughholes 31 when a midsole having laterally penetrated throughholes 31 is molded.
Here, a pressurized protruding portion 21 which may be formed of a variety of shapes is formed on the upper mold 20 in the mold structure, in order to form a portion which closely contacts the bottom portion of the midsole which is usually molded. The shape of the pressurized protruding portion 21 may be variously changed according to various shapes of the bottom portion. Therefore, as shown in FIGs. 4 and 5, when the midsole 30 is formed in the mold, the throughholes 31 are formed laterally from the midsole 30, and the expanding edge portion 31a is formed around each of the throughholes 31.
When the midsole 30 having the throughholes 31 each around which an expanding edge portion 31a is formed is taken out from the mold, the upper mold 20 is made moved upwards, and the lower mold 10 having the bottom portion 11a is made opened. In this case, as shown in FIG. 4, a joint line 32 is formed over the whole bottom portion 30a of the midsole 30 by abutment surfaces 13 formed on the bottom portion 11a which is formed on the lower portion of the molding groove 11. The molding groove 11 is formed by left and right molds which are correspondingly formed in the lower mold 10. The joint line 32 is removed using another process. Then, the midsole is combined with an outsole.
The reason why the joint line 32 should be removed is to avoid a little gap occurring when a midsole is attached to an outsole at the state where the joint line remains.
Therefore, another mold is provided in order to remove the joint line 32, as shown in FIGs. 1 and 2. Referring to FIGs. 1 and 2, for the removal of such joint line 32, there is formed no bottom portion in the lower mold 10. That is, the lower mold 10 is penetratively formed. Then, a support plate 1 is formed below the lower mold 10, and a protrusion 2 is formed on the support plate 1. Since the molding groove 11 is penetratively formed in the lower mold 10, a lower end surface of the molding groove 11 closely contacts a lateral portion 2a of the protrusion 2. As a result, as shown in FIG. 5, no joint line 32 is formed on the bottom portion 30a of the molded midsole 30.
Alternatively, the lower mold 10 may be designed to be opened only one side instead of being opened left and right. In this case, in order to prevent any one half the lower mold 10a of the lower mold 10 having the bottom surface 11a from sagging downwards by its weight, a separate guide support plate 40 is formed under the half the lower mold 10a to be opened.
Moreover, the protruding pins 12 formed on the inner surface of the molding groove 11 in the above-described lower mold 10 may be designed in various forms and sizes. Accordingly, the shapes and sizes of the throughholes 31 which are formed penetratively laterally on the midsole 30 may be also changed.
Moreover, since the protruding pins 12 are integrally formed on the inner surface of the molding groove 11 in the above-described lower mold 10, no joint lines are visibly exposed outwards from the throughholes 31 which are formed penetratively laterally on the midsole 30. Thus, an excellent quality of midsoles can be provided.
Therefore, the throughholes 31 which are formed penetratively laterally on the midsole 30 create a cushion force, respectively. Such cushion forces of the throughholes 31 possess a buffering force having an excellent restoring force even with many loads by the expanding edge portions 31a which are formed around the throughholes 31, respectively.
Also, when a number of throughholes 31 are formed in a midsole 30, a barrier which is formed between the throughholes 31 provides an effect of forming a restoring force so that a pair of shoes are not crushed.
As described above, a midsole manufacturing device having a mold assembly according to the present invention fabricates a midsole having one or more throughholes which integrally penetrate lateral portions of the midsole, in which protruding pins are formed in the inner surface of a molding groove in a lower mold which is opened left and right. The rear portion 12b of each of the protruding pins 12 has a certain ramp, or inclined angle with respect to the front portion 12a thereof. That is, the rear portion 12b is thicker than the front portion 12a. Accordingly, an expanding edge portion 31a which is extended outwards is formed around each of the throughholes 31 when a midsole having laterally penetrated throughholes 31 is molded, to thereby provide an excellent buffering force. Also, no joint line is visibly exposed on the bottom surface of the midsole.
As described above, the present invention has been described with respect to particularly preferred embodiments. However, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and it is possible for one who has an ordinary skill in the art to make various modifications and variations, without departing off the spirit of the present invention. Thus, the protective scope of the present invention is not defined within the detailed description thereof but is defined by the claims to be described later and the technical spirit of the present invention.
Industrial Applicability
As described above, the present invention provides a midsole having one or more throughholes which integrally penetrate lateral portions of the midsole, and a midsole manufacturing device therefor, to thereby make the footwear weigh light, increase a cushion of the shoes, and make a warm-keeping effect excellent.
