Abstract

Body thermoregulation device characterized in that it comprises a hat-like structure (1,2) provided with a container (3) which can be adapted to the shape of one's head and containing a cooling composition.

Description

TITLE
Body thermoregulation device. DESCRIPTION The present invention relates to a body thermoregulation device, that is to say a device which can be used to maintain the correct body temperature.
It is well known that, when a febrile state occurs, ice bags and cold water compresses are normally applied to the patient's head to decrease temperature. This solution is often annoying and, particularly for children, it can be difficult to keep the ice bags or the cold water compresses in place for a sufficient period of time. Another case in which it can be necessary to maintain a correct temperature, that is to say a temperature which is not too elevated, is that of exposures to the sun under environmental conditions characterized by high temperatures such as during summer holidays at sea, on the mountains, or at tropical places. Even under such circumstances it is advisable to wet one's head, especially children' s heads with actions which can be annoying and/or ineffective.
The main object of the present invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks. This result has been achieved according to the invention by adopting the concept of manufacturing a device having the features described in claiml. Further features of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims . The present invention offers, among others, the following advantages: it is possible to decrease the temperature to a correct value in a simple and effective way; the device can be coloured or provided with patterns, so as to be suitable for being used by children; it features a structure which allows its use both indoors and outdoors; the features of this device remain basically unaltered even after the device has been used for a long time.
These and other advantages and characteristics of the invention will be best understood by anyone skilled in this technical field from a reading of the following description in conjunction with the attached drawings, given as a practical example of the invention, but not to be considered in a limitative sense, wherein: -Fig. 1 is a perspective bottom view of a possible embodiment of the present invention;
-Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section view of the embodiment shown in Fig.l; -Fig.3 is a top perspective view with transparent parts of the example shown in Fig.l.
With reference to the non limitative example illustrated in the figures, a device 10 according to the present invention can be used for body thermoregulation and, in particular, it can be worn on one's head. Device 10 features a hat-like structure 1,2 provided with a container whose shape can be adapted for the structure of the head and can contain a composition suitable for cooling. In particular, the hat-like structure consists of an external coating 1 and of an internal frame 2.
The external coating 1 can be made of a suitable material normally used for hats and similars, for example cotton, waxed fabric, synthetic fibres etc. The external coating can comprise a visor 4 which can help in increasing protection against heat by protecting the face from possible sun radiations.
The device is provided with reversible means for fixing container 3 to frame 2. These means, which are schematically shown in Fig. 2 where they are indicated with the reference numeral 5, can be of the "Velcro ®" type or can include pressure buttons or clips, preferably made in plastic material.
With reference to the example shown, frame 2 has a substantially dome shaped reticular structure and can be firmly associated with coating 1 or associated with it in a removable way.
Container 3 can consist in a pocket in plastic soft material, and contained in a preferably removable fabric envelope. The fabric envelope is fixed to frame 2 by said association means 5. In this way, it is possible to keep container 3 in the fridge (with or without the fabric envelope) in order to associate it with frame 2 when using device 10. Furthermore, it is possible to wash the fabric envelope when necessary, thanks to the fact that it is removable.
As regards the composition inside container 3, it can consist of Hydroxyethil Cellulose, Propylene Glycol and water.
Advantageously, the external coating 1 can be provided with writings and/or drawings so that it is more pleasant and acceptable especially to children. Said device can also be helmet shaped, either as a safety helmet or as an helmet of the type used by motorcyclists or cyclists. Practically, the construction details may vary in any equivalent way as far as the shape, dimension, disposition of elements, nature of the used materials are concerned, without nevertheless departing from the scope of the adopted solution idea and, thereby, remaining within the limits of the protection grated to the present patent .
