Abstract
The device realized is called 'DIAMAGNETIC PUMP'. It can be used in several fields: technical-medical, electromedical, veterinary, aesthetic, rehabilitative and fitness fields. Our purpose was of creating a device able to solve both human and /or animal pathologies, and suitable for aesthetic and well-being treatments as cellulitis, swollen and heavy legs, gluteus, breast and abdomen relaxation, face lifting and arms toning. The aim is to exploit the diamagnetic features of the water-based pharmaceutical, cosmetic and medicinal products, improving their capacity of tissue penetration. The features that mostly define the 'Diamagnetic Pump' are: 1) its absolute innovative method; 2) the improvement of the active principles penetration at various depth levels. In terms of results, the 'Diamagnetic Pump' allows to highly improve the treatments effectiveness, guaranteeing the maximum comfort to the person under treatment and the maximum safety to the operator during the whole phase.

TEXT OF THE DESCRIPTION
The system called "DIAMAGNETIC PUMP", is an innovative machinery that is intended for the treatment of various cutaneous regions, and that is usable in the aesthetic, sports, fitness and veterinary field.
This system has particular features that allow to make treatments with a very much greater efficacy than standard processes do, and so it guarantees the maximum comfort to the person who is having the treatment and the maximum safety to the operator throughout all the working stages.
The concrete problem thanks to which we started to create the "DIAMAGNETIC PUMP" is the absence on the market of valid devices able to improve the penetration of cosmetic products and/or more generally of active principles in a human body.
The device we propose takes advantage of the diamagnetic proprieties of many materials, among which water is the most interesting to our application. A charge which rotates constitutes a loop of current that consequently creates a magnetic torque. If some charges go in one direction, and others in the opposite
one, counterbalancing the effects one of the others, the molecule does not possess a magnetic movement for its own. Assuming that in a diamagnetic material every charge is accompanied by another charge that is equal (rotating in an opposite way), and that a magnetic field from outside is applied, this one induces on them the same action exercised on two turns which are crossed by current in an opposite way: a couple of opposite forces which try to move the turns in the opposite way. In this way, the compensation stops and a global magnetic torque in opposition with the inducing magnetic field starts. Consequently, the molecule acquires such polarities to repel the external electro-magnet. A great proportion of inorganic compounds, and nearly all the organic compounds, are diamagnetic. Therefore, if a magnetic field is applied to a diamagnetic material, for example through a coil, this, as it is known since a lot of time, is repelled by the magneto (figure 1). Just to mention the other cases: ferromagnetic materials are attracted by the magneto, the paramagnetic materials are indifferent to the action of the field. The device we invented, the "DIAMAGNETIC PUMP", exploits the diamagnetic properties of many existing substances (henceforth called "liquid carrier"), as, for example, the water. When cosmetic products and/or medicinal products are dissolved in the liquid carrier, the aim of the diamagnetic pump is to improve the penetration of active principles inside living tissues. The product is pushed down by the diamagnetic effect to the deepest cutaneous layers (figure 2). The "Diamagnetic Pump" allows the penetration of active principles, even if they do not have diamagnetic properties. Actually, they can be dissolved in a liquid carrier having diamagnetic properties.
The equipment, the "Diamagnetic Pump" is made up of, is schematised in fig 3.
A brief explanation of the different components follows:
• CPU : central processing unit of the system. It is made up of a microprocessor. It generates mainly two pieces of information: the amplifier gain (G) and the type/duration of the pulse (IcpU);
• Display : graphic screen used to show pieces of various information such as timer, programme of execution, applied power, etc...
• Keyboard : unit used for the fitting in of data and/or parameters into the system;
• Pulse Generator : it generates various types of pulses, they are decided by the user (ramp pulse, with different duration and amplitude, etc...);
• Power Supply : it gives the necessary power to the amplifier in order to generate the outgoing signal;
• Amplifier : electronics that is eligible to generate the outgoing signal. In the input, it takes the signals G and S;
• Inductance : it transforms the electric pulse into a magnetic field. It is inside the operative hand piece.
The system has an user interface, thanks to which it is possible to set out: a desired programme, the power and the maximum treatment time. The easy options that are present in the menu of the graphic interface allow to select the modes in which substances have to be injected into the tissue. Shortly, the device acts on the motion quantity:
q=F-t (1)
F stands for the force applied to a small quantity of the sample product that has to penetrate into the tissue and T stands for the duration of the pulse. The force F is directly proportional to the quantities listed here under:
The force components bond to the number of turns, to the nucleus and to the distance remain constant. On the other hand, the component that is bound to the field varies in a directly proportional way to the current value circulating in the coil-winding.
So, we can write (1) as:
q=K .Iout . t (2)
As far as the theorem of the pulse and of the conservation of the torque is concerned, we can say that:
q=m.v (3)
m stands for the mass of a small quantity of penetrating sample product, and V
stands for the penetration velocity of that small quantity of product. Varying the current value and the pulse duration, one can establish which should be the penetration velocity and, so, even the depth achievable by specific products. This operation is carried out thanks to the selection of specific programmes, which classify the active principles in groups that are split up according to the mass.
So, the dimensional spectrum of interest is fully handled. The device is able to carry out these selections creating waveforms of different sorts: a) continuous, b) rectangular pulse, c) slope pulse, d) triangular wave (figure 4). The values of the field is between 0,5μT and 2OT. Applying short time and big duration pulses one has better results than using long time and low duration pulses, taking into consideration the same energy transferred.
The working hand piece (or head of treatment) is made up of a shell of paramagnetic material, and inside of it there is a winding of conductor or super- conductor material used for the generation of the electric field. Furthermore, the winding can have a variant that uses an ferromagnetic material nucleus, whose ending is almost in contact with the cutis of the person who is having the treatment. The presence of the ferromagnetic material allows to obtain, changing opportunely its structures, different combinations of the magnetic field lines.
Figure 5 shows two examples of a working hand piece, and describes the case a) without ferromagnetic material (not concentrated field lines), and the case b) with ferromagnetic material (concentrated field lines). The particular curved shape of the hand piece allows to develop a double action. Besides the already described effect about the improvement of the penetration of cosmetics products, the hand piece also allows a pleasant massage action during the development of the treatment. So, a kindly action useful to soothe muscular or articular pain, to tone up the volume of some tissues, but even to preserve and to improve the psychical wellbeing, relaxing strains and tiredness.
