Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte successivement une étape préalable d'identification d'un décodeur de télévision interactive, une étape de mise en relation entre un terminal et le dit décodeur au moyen d'une base de données, une étape de saisie de commande à exécuter sur le décodeur, une étape de renvoi de l'utilisateur d'une information de commande à travers un moyen de communication, une étape de conversion par un serveur approprié de cette information de commande en un signal intelligible par le décodeur, une étape de transport au travers d'un réseau de télédiffusion dudit signal audit décodeur et une dernière étape de mise en œuvre de la commande souhaitée au niveau dudit décodeur. L'invention se rapporte également à un système pour la mise en œuvre du procédé comprenant au moins un décodeur de télévision interactive, un réseau de télécommunications, un réseau de télédiffusion numérique et un serveur de traitement.

Description

PROCEDE DE COMMANDE À DISTANCE D'UN DECODEUR
La présente invention se rapporte au domaine de la télévision interactive. La présente invention se rapporte plus particulièrement à un procédé visant à permettre de piloter à distance un décodeur numérique par l'envoi d'une commande, cette dernière pouvant par exemple se présenter sous la forme d'un message de type SMS.
De façon classique, un décodeur est piloté par une télécommande communiquant avec le décodeur par une liaison de type infrarouge.
La présente invention entend remédier aux inconvénients de l'art antérieur en proposant un procédé permettant à un utilisateur d'envoyer une commande à distance à son décodeur.
On connaît dans l'art antérieur, par la demande de brevet européen EP 1 213 842 (NTT DoCoMo), un système de fourniture de programmes. L'invention objet de cette demande de brevet européen concerne un système de fourniture de programme permettant de fournir un programme correspondant à des utilisateurs. Ce système comprend un boîtier décodeur et un récepteur (T.V.), lesquels reçoivent des données de programme radiodiffusées à partir d'une station de radiodiffusion et fournissent aux utilisateurs des programmes exprimés par les données de programme, ainsi qu'un téléphone portatif qui est rattaché à un réseau de communication mobile et contient des informations d'identification capables de spécifier des utilisateurs. Le téléphone portatif émet des signaux de commande, notamment des informations d'identification, en direction du boîtier décodeur, lequel conserve ces informations ainsi que des informations attributives correspondant aux informations d'identification. Lorsque le boîtier décodeur reçoit un signal de commande émanant du téléphone portatif, il exécute un traitement de mise en correspondance des informations attributives avec les informations d'identification comprises dans ce signal de commande.
Dans cette solution, l'information transmise du terminal mobile au décodeur est une information d'identification pour permettre de visionner un programme.
La présente invention vise à permettre un pilotage beaucoup plus fin du décodeur et de donner des informations de commande du type « enregistrer » ou bien « changer de chaîne » .
A cet effet, la présente invention concerne, dans son acception la plus générale, un procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte successivement une étape préalable d'identification d'un décodeur de télévision interactive, une étape de mise en relation entre un terminal et le dit décodeur au moyen d'une base de données, une étape de saisie de commande à exécuter sur le décodeur, une étape de renvoi de l'utilisateur d'une information de commande à travers un moyen de communication, une étape de conversion par un serveur approprié de cette information de commande en un signal intelligible par ledit décodeur, une étape de transport au travers d'un réseau de télédiffusion dudit signal audit décodeur et une dernière étape de mise en œuvre de la commande souhaitée au niveau dudit décodeur.
Selon un premier mode de réalisation, ledit moyen de communication est le SMS ou le MMS.
Selon un second mode de réalisation, ledit moyen de communication est l'e-mail. Selon une variante, ledit moyen de communication est l'audiotel.
Selon une autre variante, ledit moyen de communication est le Web. Selon un mode de mise en œuvre particulier, ledit décodeur possède un disque dur et ladite commande est une commande d'enregistrement.
Selon un autre mode de mise en œuvre, ladite commande est un changement de chaîne de télévision. Selon une variante, ladite commande est l'affichage d'une information visuelle sur l'écran de télévision.
La présente invention se rapporte également à un système pour la mise en œuvre du procédé comprenant au moins un décodeur de télévision interactive, un réseau de télécommunications, un réseau de télédiffusion numérique et un serveur de traitement.
On comprendra mieux l'invention à l'aide de la description, faite ci-après à titre purement explicatif, d'un mode de réalisation de l'invention, en référence à la figure annexée où :
• la figure 1 illustre une mise en œuvre du procédé selon l'invention.
Dans le mode de réalisation développé dans notre exemple, un utilisateur possède une télévision reliée à un décodeur de télévision interactive et un terminal de téléphonie mobile ayant la capacité d'envoyer et de recevoir des messages de type SMS ou MMS. Ce terminal peut être compatible GSM, CDMA, GPRS, UMTS ou tout autre norme de télécommunication mobile numérique acceptant l'envoi et la réception de mini-messages. On peut également envisager un terminal de type PDA (assistant personnel) relié à un réseau local sans-fil (par exemple de type Wi-Fi ...)• H est entendu que cet exemple n'est pas limitatif et qu'il appartient à l'homme du métier de réaliser des variantes s'adaptant à des cas particuliers.
Dans un exemple d'application, l'utilisateur s'inscrit, via une page Web ou un contenu accessible sur un terminal mobile, à des listes de diffusion dans le but de recevoir des notifications lorsqu'un programme Pl qui l'intéresse passe à la télévision. Un serveur stocke dans une base de données les souhaits de cet utilisateur et lui envoie une notification, par exemple par SMS, lorsque ledit programme Pl est diffusé. L'utilisateur a alors le choix d'envoyer une commande à son décodeur : il peut par exemple commander à distance son décodeur et lui demander d'enregistrer ledit programme dans le cas où le décodeur possède un disque dur.
La commande est transmise au travers d'un réseau de télécommunications à un serveur de traitement qui convertit ladite commande en un signal compréhensible par le décodeur. Ce signal est transmis au décodeur de l'utilisateur via le réseau de télédiffusion puis la commande est exécutée par le décodeur à réception du signal de commande. Toute fonction du décodeur peut ainsi être commandée à distance par l'utilisateur.
L'invention est décrite dans ce qui précède à titre d'exemple. Il est entendu que l'homme du métier est à même de réaliser différentes variantes de 1 ' invention sans pour autant sortir du cadre du brevet.

Claims

REVENDICATIONS
1. Procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte successivement une étape préalable d'identification d'un décodeur de télévision interactive, une étape de mise en relation entre un terminal et le dit décodeur au moyen d'une base de données, une étape de saisie de commande à exécuter sur le décodeur, une étape de renvoi de l'utilisateur d'une information de commande à travers un moyen de communication, une étape de conversion par un serveur approprié de cette information de commande en un signal intelligible par ledit décodeur, une étape de transport au travers d'un réseau de télédiffusion dudit signal audit décodeur et une dernière étape de mise en œuvre de la commande souhaitée au niveau dudit décodeur.
2. Procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit moyen de communication est le SMS ou le MMS.
3. Procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit moyen de communication est l'e-mail.
4. Procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit moyen de communication est l'audiotel.
5. Procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit moyen de communication est le Web.
6. Procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ledit décodeur possède un disque dur et ladite commande est une commande d'enregistrement.
7. Procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé en ce que ladite commande est un changement de chaîne de télévision.
8. Procédé de commande d'un décodeur de télévision numérique selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé en ce que ladite commande est l'affichage d'une information visuelle sur l'écran de télévision.
9. Système pour la mise en œuvre du procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes comprenant au moins un décodeur de télévision interactive, un réseau de télécommunications, un réseau de télédiffusion numérique et un serveur de traitement.
