Abstract

Pillar shaped items in a flagstone surrounding, where the object has the same form and dimension as one or a combination of more of the used flagstones in the flagstone surroundings and where the pillar is mounted as a substitution of one or a combination of more of the used flagstones in the flagstone surroundings. The pillar shaped items can be fixed internally for instance by pipe-shaped pins and at their basis by the adjoining pillar shaped flagstones in the flagstone system.

Description

Pillar in a flagstone surrounding, support plate used for fixation, use of a support plate and a mounting fitting integrated with the pillar.
The invention concerns an arrangement in connection with mounting and the fixture of items in a flagstone system, where the pattern of the flagstone system stays intact without any gabs .
It is common knowledge to mount pillar shaped items such as lamp posts , standards and flagstaffs in a flagstone system. These mountings, which have been placed in the middle of a flagstone system after the flagstones have been meticulous arranged, ruins the aesthetic overall impression of the area tremendously.
Beyond the aesthetical deterioration of the flagstone surrounded by mounted items, which does not have a cross section, which in form and size are identical to the flagstone in the flagstone surroundings, and mounted as a substitution for one flagstone or maybe four flagstones , you will have the disadvantages which is caused by gabs created in between the mounted items and the flagstones in the flagstone surrounding .
Said areas between the mounted items and the flagstones are a strong debilitation of the flagstone surrounding, because - depending on the subsequent finish - it will result in undesirable growth (weed) and/or stimulate animals in particular dog to do it' s duty and the aesthetically arranged flagstone system become a foul dog toilet .
The flagstone surrounding is also weakened physically when it has been demolished, because flagstones which are mounted afterwards are not anchored optimally. The problem with the destabilization is quite similar to the weakness you have when making construction j oints during concrete distributions .
To ensure stabilization of the mounted pillar shaped items , encircled by flagstones in flagstone surroundings according to the present invention, there' s provided a dedicated buttress for the mounted pillar shaped items, which buttress is an integrated part of the plan support plate . To prevent a weakening of the anchoring between the flagstones , the support plate can with advantage be placed in position under the flagstones before said flagstones have been laid.
State of the art
From known pillar cross-section and known flagstone shapes it is only possible to create a perfect match using squared piles, with four straight angels in a flagstone system, made up of four angled flagstones and where the piles cross section area is equal to the area of one or possibly four flagstones .
The techniques most similar compared to the present invention does not concern the mounting of pillar shaped items as for example lamp posts, piles and flag staffs in a flagstone system. The most similar techniques compared to the present invention is revealed in the English patent application GB 2332505, this application concerns a lamp which is build in a flagstone surrounding. The lamp is at the same level as the flagstone in the flagstone surrounding. The lamp according to the patent application GB 2332505 is characterized by, that is has the same shape and size as one or more of the flagstone in the flagstone surrounding . The techniques most similar compared to the present invention concerns only a solution in two dimensions using only rectangular shapes . It is well known to use a supporting surface for example for a beach parasol, where the supporting surface is concealed in the sand and where the supporting surface has a bracket fitted on the inside, where said bracket can fix an item, for example a beach parasol as seen in the American patent US 5271196. The most similar techniques compared to the present invention are thus not pertaining to a double fixation of pillar shaped items surrounded by flagstones in flagstone surroundings .
Description of the invention
Now it has been revealed that it is possible to eliminate the deterioration of the aesthetic overall impression of a flagstone surroundings, further the disadvantages which can occur when naked area are created between the mounted items and the flagstones can also bee eliminated when using the instructions according to the present invention as characterised in claim No . 1.
In a unique performance according to the present invention it is possible to ensure a firm stabilization of the mounted pillar shaped items in a flagstone system, whereby the pattern of the flagstones stays intact; this is accomplished when using a integrated sheet of support, where the sheet of support has a pin, which internally, vertically supports the mounted pillar shaped items, while externally the mounted pillar are fixed at their base by the adjoining flagstones in the flagstone system. Further in another performance according to the present invention the integrated sheet of support can have a number of pins one pin for every pillar shaped object which is to be mounted on the sheet of support . To obtain an optimum strength of the flagstone system it is an advantage to place the supporting plate according to the present invention before the flagstones has been laid.
The internally, vertically supporting pin for the mounted pillar shaped items can be tubular and destined for wiring of electric cables or carrying water pipes . Said electric cable can as required terminate in a source of light or a switch. On the other hand the water pipes can terminate in a tap or a fountain.
The mounted pillar shaped items can be a post or similar, or the pillar shaped items can be supports for example for benches . As an example and not as a limitation of the present invention, the invention can be used for : waste baskets , tables , hydrants, bus shelters , bicycle stands , drinking stands , flag staffs, kiosks, lamps, parking meters, pissoirs, pillar boxes, bollards , advertising stands, signs, signposts, stalls, stall tents , taxi ranks and telephone boxes .
Drawing list : Figure 1 shows well known lack of adaptation in flagstone surroundings . Figure 2 shows a light element Figure 3 shows an advertising sign
Figure 4 shows a bench
Figure 5 shows a bench and an advertising sign Figure 6 shows pillar with an integrated revolve- able mounting fitting, Figure 7 shows the mounting of a pillar stabilised by a support plate a Figure 8 shows a fixed pillar shaped element .
The invention is further explained referring to the drawing where Figure 1 shows examples of well known lack of adaptation in flagstone surroundings whereby the aesthetic overall impression of the area is seriously ruined, further you have the disadvantages which occur as a consequence of the created naked area between the mounted items and the flagstone in the flagstone surrounding.
Figure 2 shows a lamp according to the present invention, where the lamp is mounted in a flagstone system while the flagstone pattern stays intact .
Figure 3 shows an advertising sign according to the present invention, where the advertising sign has been mounted in a flagstone system and where the pillars are mounted as a substitute for two of the flagstones in the flagstone surroundings, in this way a retention of the physical strength of the flagstone system and a preservation of a intact flagstone pattern is obtained. Figure 4 shows a bench according to the present invention, where the bench has been mounted in a flagstone system and where the pillars have been mounted as a substitution for two of the flagstones in the flagstone surroundings, in this way a retention of the physical strength of the flagstone system and a preservation of an intact flagstone pattern is obtained.
Figures 5 shows a bench and a lamp according to the present invention, where the bench and the lamp has been mounted in a flagstone system and where the pillars have been mounted as a substitution for tree of the flagstones in the flagstone surroundings , in this way an retention of the physical strength of the flagstone system and a preservation of a intact flagstone pattern is obtain .
Figures 6 shows a pillar ( 2 ) according to the present invention with an integrated, revolve-able mounting fitting ( 3 ) , where the rotation of the mounting fitting ( 3) can take place around a plate ( 4 ) . The mounting fitting (3 ) can rotate in an angel of 360 ° around the plate ( 4 ) . The mounting fitting (3 ) for instance can be used as mounting for a bench (5 ) .
Figure 7 shows a support plate ( 6) according to the present invention, where in this embodiment of the present invention said support plate ( 6) only has one vertical pipe-shaped support (7 ) used for the wiring of electric cables (8 ) . Figure 8 shows which flagstones that fixes a pillar-shaped obj ect according to the present invention at its base .
