Abstract

Lashing securement device for goods on a carrier load platform, the securement device thereby comprising a base plate (1) having an aperture (2) substantially corresponding with the shaft (3) of an ISO container locking device on the platform, said aperture (2) comprising on each side a wall (4) extending upwardly from the plate (1) and being adapted to receive the locking means (5) of the ISO container locking device when placed in a locking position, thereby securing the securement device to the platform.

Description

Cargo securement device on carriers
The present invention is related to a lashing securement device for goods on carriers.
In many cases hazardous situations have been seen where goods and cargo have been transported on platform bodies on trucks and lorries without safe securement of the goods. In many cases such securement may be difficult because of the lack of brackets, fasteners or such on the platform body. The result is insufficient securement of goods which may be dangerous in many situations in the traffic. Furthermore, such goods also may be damaged if not properly secured.
With the securement device according to the present invention, goods and cargo easily can be properly secured to load platforms provided with locking means for ISO containers. This is achieved with the securement device according to the present invention as defined by the features stated in the claim.
The drawing discloses in figure 1 the securement device according to the present invention in a perspective view and figure 2 discloses the securement device in a position locked to an ISO container locking device. A fish plate 1 comprises an aperture 2 adapted to receive a shaft 3 of a container lock secured to the platform.
The sides of the aperture 2 comprise on each side a wall 4 the top of which corresponding with the top of the shaft 3. The plate 1 may be placed on the platform with the shaft 3 protruding upwardly through the aperture 2 thereafter to be locked to the platform by turning ISO container locking means 5 into a locked position, effectively thereby locking the plate 1 to the platform.
The plate 1 furthermore comprises an attachment ring 6 secured to the plate 1 and providing a possibility for securing a hook, a rope, a wire, a chain, shackles or such to the platform at places where a securement device according to the present invention is installed on container locks, thereby ensuring a reliable securement of the goods to the platform.
With the securement device according to the present invention, load securement means having high ultimate strength can be used, thereby ensuring safe transportation.
Furthermore the securement device according to the invention also allows for a higher number of securements as all ISO container locking means may be used.

Claims

P a t e n t C l a i m s
1. Lashing securement device for goods on a carrier load platform, characterised in that the securement device comprises a base plate (1) having an aperture (2) substantially corresponding with the shaft (3) of an ISO container locking device on the platform, said aperture (2) comprising on each side a wall (4) extending upwardly from the plate (1) and being adapted to receive the locking means (5) of the ISO container locking device when placed in a locking position, thereby securing the securement device to the platform.
