Abstract

A refrigerator has a plurality of shelves (14) supported on threaded uprights (18) which carry cooperating members (64). The shelves (14) rest on the member (64) by means of a tube (58). Turning the member (64) causes the member (64) to move up or down the upright (18), thereby adjusting the height of the shelf (14).
