A surgical device including a cutting blade (6); a guard portion (13,14) movable with respect to the blade from a first position covering the blade to a second position exposing the blade; an actuator shaft (15); a biasing element; an intergrally formed locking element; and a handle having a cavity configured to receive the locking element (9).
