Abstract

L'invention porte sur un appareil destiné à être utilisé dans la séparation, au moins partielle, d'un mélange, cet appareil comprenant au moins une chambre et au moins un générateur de micro-ondes configuré pour transmettre une énergie micro-onde dans ladite chambre. L'ensemble rotor peut comprendre un générateur électrique destiné à générer l'électricité pour activer le générateur de micro-ondes. Au moins un générateur de micro-ondes peut être positionné à l'intérieur d'un arbre interne tubulaire s'étendant à l'intérieur de l'ensemble rotor. Au moins une partie de l'arbre interne tubulaire peut être sensiblement transparente à l'énergie micro-onde. L'énergie micro-onde peut être émise dans un sens radial extérieur ou vers une surface de séparation anticipée formée entre un mélange et un constituant de celui-ci séparé. L'invention porte également sur un procédé consistant à faire écouler un mélange par l'intermédiaire d'une chambre et à transférer une énergie micro-onde dans ladite chambre lors de la rotation de celle-ci. L'invention porte également sur des procédés de fonctionnement d'un séparateur centrifuge et sur sa conception.
