Definitions

  • This invention relates to shower base installations in which a unitary shower base is installed in a floor structure to provide a scale standing area for a person taking a shower and to collect water for drainage run off and drainage.
  • shower bases generally have the formation of a shallow tray having a central tray floor and a perimeter rim projecting above the central floor.
  • the base may be of generally rectangular shape to fit flush against a bathroom or shower-room wall, or it may be of a generally triangular or other shape to be fitted into a corner of a room. In either case, a part of the raised perimeter rim of the tray may sit flush against a wall and tiling or other covering of the wall may be installed so as to engage an upper surface of the perimeter rim.
  • the remaining part of the perimeter rim projects into the room and will generally be contiguous with the floor surface of the room. Abstract
