Description

DISPOSITIVO DE SUTURA INDOLORA Y ATRAU MÁTI CA Y USO DEL MISMO PAINLESS SUTURE DEVICE AND ATRAU MÁTI CA AND USE OF THE SAME
The present invention refers to a suture device that allows this operation to be carried out in a non-aggressive way for the tissues, which leads to a decrease in pain, by reducing the tissue reaction in the tissues and avoiding friction and tears. The best known and most widely used atraumatic manual suture devices consist of a curved needle at the end of which is attached a thread of the type and thickness that is desired according to the operation to be performed. Even when it is sought that the union between the needle and the thread presents a transition as smooth as possible, it cannot be avoided that said union constitutes a discontinuity. It has also been found that the thread itself, especially in those of braided or multifilament construction, constitutes a very aggressive element for the tissues when it slides through them, due to what we could call the sawtooth effect, and in the monofilament for its ability to section tissues (they are more sharp). Finally, we must consider that in a traditional suture all the thread must pass through the tissue. This length of thread can be considerable at the beginning of a suturing operation.
It is an objective of the present invention to have a suture device that reduces the sensation of pain and tissue trauma.
Another objective of the present invention is that the choice of the type of suture thread does not affect the painful sensation and the historical reactivity (of the tissues). To achieve the proposed objectives, a suture device has been developed in which the slippage of the suture through the tissues has been totally eliminated. To achieve this, the tip of the needle is extended into a hollow body through which the suture thread can slide, ending this in a stop that tightly closes an exit hole for the suture thread arranged at the junction of the tip with the body. gap.
In this way, when the stop is flush with the needle, the appearance of the device is similar to that of a normal suture needle prolonged later, while once it is inserted into the tissue, we can pass all the suture thread from the back of the needle to the front of it, and vice versa. In this operation it is necessary to detach the stopper from the thread exit hole, so if it tends to fit together and the suture thread used is very flexible, it will be convenient to use a guide of a certain rigidity, attached to the stopper.
The advantages of the suture device of the invention are the following: It allows a manual suture adapted to local conditions. It does not tear tissues, so it is painless and does not cause trauma. It reduces the capillarity of the materials, that is, the absorption and osmosis capacity of the tissues through the suture thread, reducing the adherence of bacteria and thus the risk of infection, since the edge of the hole does not suffer tears or cuts by the suture.
The device is applicable to any type of suture thread. The device is perfectly sterilizable.

As can be seen in figure 1, the device of the invention consists of a needle (1) that has a point (2), curved and triangular in section, which is prolonged in a hollow body (3), straight and circular in section . A flexible suture thread (4) can slide inside the hollow body (3), attached to a semi-rigid guide (5), which ends in a stop (6) that tightly closes a hole (7) that presents the hollow body (3) at its junction with the tip (2).
Ventajosamente Ia guía (5) se realiza en hilo de acero, aunque es factible fabricarla en cualquier otro material que presente Ia suficiente rigidez para poder empujar el tope (6) fuera de su alojamiento en el cuerpo hueco (3).Advantageously the guide (5) is made of steel wire, although it is feasible to manufacture it in any other material that has sufficient rigidity to be able to push the stop (6) out of its housing in the hollow body (3).
Structurally described the device of the invention, the form of use of the same will be explained below in order to achieve the proposed objectives.
Ver figura 3.Figures 3 to 5 represent the sequence of the different operations that constitute the use of the device. As a non-limiting example, the suture of an open wound will be shown. We will start by crossing the first lip (8) of the wound, introducing the needle (1) into the tissue until the tip (2) and the hole (7), closed by the stop (6), protrude, as shown in figure 2 Special care will be taken so that the entire thickness of the tissue is in contact with the hollow body (3) and not with the suture thread (4). In this way, only the polished surface of the needle (1) will have slid through the tissue which, consequently, will not suffer any aggression or present a painful reaction. See figure 3.
With the needle (1) in the same position, we will pass all the suture thread (4) to the front part through the hollow body (3), initially using a push on the guide (5), creating a loop (9) of suture thread (4) in front of the needle (1). See figure 4.
Se tendrá especial cuidado en no provocar el deslizamiento respecto al tejido del hilo de sutura (4) que va quedando tras Ia aguja (1).Next, we will slide the needle (1) along the suture thread (4) that forms the loop (9), extracting it from the first lip (8). Special care will be taken not to cause the suture thread (4) that remains behind the needle (1) to slip with respect to the tissue.
In this way we arrive at a position such as that represented in figure 5, in which we once again have freedom of movement to pierce the second lip (10), since the loop (9) will now be entirely behind the needle (1).
A series of modifications and alternatives that allow adapting the procedure of the invention to different purposes will be evident to an expert in the field, while maintaining the essentiality of its structure and procedure of use. Thus, the tip (2) does not have to be curved nor does the hollow body (3) have to be straight. Nor must the sections be triangular or circular. Normally, the device is manufactured complete, including the suture thread (4) and the guide (5) attached to the stop (6), but any other type of supply can be imagined.
No more detail has been insisted on the suturing operation since it will be well known by those skilled in the art.
