Description

DISPOSITIF NASAL ANTI-RONFLEMENT ANTI-SNORING NASAL DEVICE
No. 03 00514 filed in the names of the present Applicants. The subject of the above patent application is a nasal anti-swelling device consisting of a means capable of permanently raising the tip of the nose so as to inflect the air flow entering each nostril in the direction of the cavum and to modify the turbulent regime of air flow at the level of the nasal fossae, cavum and oropharynx, causing at least a very substantial attenuation of snoring, this device being essentially constituted by a double hook whose ends are shaped so as to engage in the nasal orifices, means for fixing the double hook being provided so as to secure the latter to the head of the wearer and to exert on the two hooks a slight traction directed towards the front region of said wearer. The object of the present invention is to improve this device, in particular at the level of said means for fixing the double hook in order to make the device both more effective and more comfortable. To this end, the subject of the invention is an anti-snoring nasal device comprising two hooks secured to a single support and means capable of being secured to the patient's head and of exerting on said single support a slight traction towards the frontal area of the patient, characterized in that said securing and traction means consist, on the one hand, of a flexible adhesive strip capable of being applied to the patient's forehead above the root of the nose and, d 'other hand, a thin flexible link connecting said strip to said single support, and in that it further comprises an element of biocompatible material capable of interposing between said thin flexible link and the front or the area of the root of the nose so as to distance the link and bring the direction of traction of the link on the tip of the nose closer to the vertical. According to one embodiment, said flexible adhesive strip is a rectangular fabric strip of substantial width of at least 15 to 20 millimeters and said link is a very narrow strip, one end of which is integral with a bent rod connecting the two hooks and the other end of which is pressed against the adhesive face of said strip. According to another embodiment, said strip comprises two superposed adhesive parts trapping one of the ends of said link, itself constituted for example by a very narrow strip. Other characteristics and advantages will emerge from the description which follows of the two embodiments above, description given by way of example only and with reference to the appended drawing in which: - Figure 1 is a front view of a device according to the invention; - Figure 2 is a partial profile view of the head of a patient wearing the device of Figure 1, and - Figure 3 is a diagram illustrating an alternative embodiment of the device of Figure 1. In Figures 1 and 2, there is shown an anti-snoring nasal device according to the invention, consisting of two identical hooks 1 for example and preferably made of an elastoplastic material covered with a biocompatible material. The hooks 1 are fixed to the ends of a rod 2, for example metallic, deformable for the purpose of adjustment to the nostrils of the patient. The rod 2 is curved in the middle to form an inverted U and in the area of curvature is fixed the end of a flexible strip 3 very narrow, made of fabric or the like, the other end of which is glued against the adhesive face d 'a self-adhesive flexible strip 4 of substantial width, for example at least 15 to 20 mm, the strip 3 being arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the strip 4 and in the central part of the latter. Figure 2 illustrates the installation of the device of Figure 1. The wide strip 4 is placed against the forehead, the strip 3 being held captive between the strip 4 and the skin and being glued to the strip. Furthermore, in accordance with the invention, an auxiliary element 5 of suitable shape and preferably made of biocompatible material is interposed between the strip 3 and the forehead so as to move the strip away from the forehead, which contributes to bringing the direction of the traction exerted on the tip of the nose by the hooks
In the absence of element 5, the direction of traction, shown at T in the figure
The shape and dimensions of the element 5 can of course be adapted to the morphology of the individual, at the place where the element is placed, it could for example be placed in the zone R of the root of the nose and also to the nature and dimensions of the strip or of the flexible link 3. The strip 3 is as reduced as possible in width so as not to disturb the good adhesion of the strip 4 on the forehead. To overcome a possible risk of partial detachment of the strip 4 in line with the junction with the strip 3, it is possible to use the variant device according to FIG. 3 in which the strip 4 in fact comprises two identical strips superimposed 4a and 4b between which the strip 3 is trapped. In this way, if the traction exerted by the strip 3 tends to partially spread the strip 4a at 6, the other strip 4b is not affected and remains glued to the forehead over its entire length. area. We can also provide on the internal face of the strip 4a a non-sticky area in line with the region 6 thus leaving the strip 3, in this region, the possibility of moving away from the strip 4b to better adapt to the spacer element 5.
