The system is based on a magnetic connection between the boots and the snowboard or ski boards, a connection that can be undone at the athlete's will by the voluntary action of the athlete on electrical switches, either manually through a transmission. by electrical cables, either by means of electromagnetic waves of voice commands by means of a voice recognition device and a transmitter-receiver system, or by means of an infrared transmission and a transmitter-receiver system.
Antecedentes de la InvenciónBackground of the Invention
Esto facilita al esquiador el movimiento en el descenso.a) Telemark binding: in this type of binding, only the toe of the boot is held, leaving its heel completely free. This makes it easier for the skier to move downhill.
This fixation leaves only the heel of the boot free in order to be able to take long strides and facilitate forward movement on level ground, with the help of two long poles.
This binding is made up of two devices, the heel and the toe box. When the forces acting on the fixation reach certain values predetermined according to the skier's weight and level, the boots are released from the bindings by means of springs. The toe is released mainly due to lateral or vertical forces that impinge on it, while the heel is released mainly due to vertical forces.
To climb, the skier uses seal skins on the soles of skis and the free heel device, while to lower he fixes the heel device and, without the skins, slides as with the Alpine Ski type although with more rudimentary fixations.
They are used in this type of ski in which the boards are small, about 50-100 cm in length, and on which the boot is fixed with a clamp system. This type of binding was initially developed for hard boot snowboard bindings, as a fixed system that only allows manual release. In the event of a serious accident, it can come loose, which is more of an inconvenience than an advantage, due to the skier's loss of grip in snow or ice.
All the technology developed in the ski market so far is basically focused on making the binding / boot system more sensitive to possible vibrations and flexions, due to increased speed, jumps, bumps or incidents due to lack of technique. Furthermore, there is an added problem since the existence of two boards (skis) and their length (equal to or greater than 2 meters) often causes them to cross with consequent accidents, especially for beginners.
In recent years, patents in this field have focused on providing solutions that allow anticipating the appearance of the aforementioned forces or inconveniences, which are the ones that cause injuries, so that the fasteners leave the boots free at the slightest indication of crossroads of skis, jumps or exaggerated vibrations. The detection of these signs by means of sensors allows the automatic opening of the fixings. This system is not yet on the market.
It is also necessary to take into account the recent evolution of skiing towards the so-called Carving era; in this type of skis it has been considerably reduced, up to 40 cm, the length while increasing its width, which gives the skier more stability, reaching the extreme of not using the ski poles to make turns.
Expert skiers, on the increase in recent years, do not want the bindings to be released without their consent since this does not allow them to enjoy all their freedom and, especially on steep slopes, it can cause them to lose their skis, which they lose their grip system. This means that conventional fastening systems should tend to decrease. In this same sense, it must be remembered that ski theory recommends not detaching from skis in dangerous situations on steep slopes.
Use a clip to fix the boot to the snowboard, so it can only be released manually.
The fixation is made up of a metallic semi-arch that is fixed to the heel of the boot, taking advantage of an existing crack where this semi-arch is inserted. At the front, a pressure closure system fixes the toe box to the board.
An evolution of this system is based on a new way of fixing boots to the board. Before starting the practice, the toe of the boot is nailed to the front of the binding while the back of the boot is press-fitted, or vice versa, while resting on the toe of the boot, without the need for fix it manually. So only release is manual. Currently this system, called Alpine snowboard, is very little used.
El anclaje y liberación son manuales usando unas escalerillas dentadas y unos recogedores de tipo carraca.b) Soft boot fixation: this system is the most used and consists of rubber and fabric boots (type of snow boot) and bindings made up of two straps made with mixtures of nylon and carbon fiber, one for front (toe area) and another on the instep that fixes the heel; This last strap has a rear pusher that supports the forces of the rear of the twin. Anchorage and release are manual using toothed ladders and ratchet-type catchers.
An evolution of this system, called "Step-in", has facilitated automatic anchoring, while the release remains manual. This system consists of a metallic fixing screwed to the board and a boot that incorporates metallic components in the sole that allow that, when pressing the boot through the fixing against the board, both are fixed by pressure. To release the boot from the binding it is necessary to move a caliper manually. In some cases the boot does not have any metallic device but it does have cavities in the lateral material of the sole, facilitating the entry of a trigger in these cavities from the fixation located in the table. In no case does this "Step-in" system use any technology other than mechanical fastening, so that it cannot be released except manually. The only new contribution of this technology is the automatic anchorage process.
Por lo que respecta a los medios de sujeción de los elementos de fijación a la tabla y las ensayos de resistencia existentes mencionamos los siguientes puntos:Regarding the means of fastening the fastening elements to the table and the existing resistance tests, we mention the following points:
The fixings were formerly anchored by screws, which were held in the table thanks to a duralumin sheet inserted in the core of the table. 2. Due to the lack of security of the previous system, metric females (called inserts) located in the table were devised, which allow metric 6 male screws to be screwed, which has turned out to be an industry standard. For almost a decade, patents have focused on the arrangement and placement of these inserts in the table, a system to monopolize by some manufacturers the exclusive use of these types of fixings or types of inserts in their tables. 3. The resistance tests currently carried out determine the force that a single insert holds; until it comes off the table. Because a fixation uses 3-4 inserts to be fixed, it is practically impossible for the user to separate the fixation from the table by separating the inserts or by breaking the fixation It should be noted that Snowboarding is a sport in itself with different origins than skiing, and that its safety systems are also different. In Snowboarding it is even more desirable than in skiing that the boots do not come off the bindings or the board automatically. In principle, boots should only be released from the board voluntarily (by manual or remote actuation). If not, the practitioner is left unprotected if he has no grip on the sliding surface and, more or more importantly, the other practitioners are exposed to a risk of an accident caused by a Snowboard sliding down a uncontrolled track.
Until now all these fixation systems, be they real models or previous patents, have been based on manually screwing the base of the fixation to the table with a predetermined angle that will be the one that the practitioner will use during the march. To change this angle you must stop and detach the boot from the table and rotate the fixings with the help of a tool.
Various fastening systems using magnetic and electromechanical forces have been patented.
Patent Hopkins No. 6,007,086 dated December 28, 1999, entitled Electric Ski Binding System describes a system of fastening boots to skis by permanent magnets located on the rear part of the toe and on the heel of the boots and others of opposite polarity located on the anchorage places of the bindings to the skis, being equipped with electromagnets that cancel the field created by the permanent magnets to undo the fastening. The system is equipped with an active security system made up of a microprocessor and sensors located in the fixings that detect sudden changes in pressure and force in the system and order its release. The main drawback is that this system is not recommended for a snowboard, as mentioned above, nor for current Carving skis that flex sharply. As stated, this system needs fixings.
US Patent No. 5,820,155 to Brisco, dated October 13, 1998, describes a snowboard attachment system that incorporates an electromechanical quick-release mechanism operable by means of a combination of RF transceiver that serves as a secondary release element. Since the clamping is mechanical and the release is mechanical and electromechanical, the main drawback is that, in the event of a failure, there would be no quick release by remote control in motion.
Japanese Patent Application No. 09-133207 to Hitachi Metals Ltd, published on December 2, 1998 describes a magnetic snowboard device in which the grip between the boot and the board is achieved by means of permanent magnets. The main drawback is the same as in the patent cited in the previous paragraph, since the release system only allows the system to be unlocked by means of a manually operated mechanical force and, therefore, dependent on another mechanism.
Patent Golling No. 6,224,086, dated May 1, 2001, entitled Apparatus for Gliding over Snow, describes a system in which only magnetic forces are used to attach ski or snow boots to snowboards. The main drawback is the same as in the patent cited in the previous paragraph; the release system only allows the system to be unlocked by means of manually actuated mechanical forces (a lever).
The stated drawbacks are obviated by a fastening system as claimed in the appended claims, which has the following advantages over representative patents of the prior art:
• It allows instant anchoring and release, by remote and autonomous control (when the user wishes), avoiding any dangerous automatism for the practice of this sport. • In the case of snowboarding, you can change the angle and separation of the boots on the board at rest or movement by moving the feet and acting on an electric switch. • In the case of skiing, it allows advancing or retarding the position of the boots to vary the geometry of the turn layout using the same pair of skis. • Also in the case of snowboarding, it allows a sliding sensation comparable to its sister board sports (Surfboard and Skateboard). It allows sliding on the snow surface with optimal and safe control, with the possibility of detaching from the board or skis at imminent risk. It allows performing acrobatic figures, in the "Half-Pipe" or "freestyle" mode, which require an instant and remote release of the board or skis.
Descripción de la InvenciónDescription of the Invention
El Sistema Electromagnético Autónomo de Control de Sujeción de Botas a Tabla de Snowboard o Esquís está formado por unas baterías recargables con unos cargadores eléctricos o solares de batería, que también pueden ser del tipo válvula- cargador o tipo similar integrado en la bota, unos interruptores de corriente, unos electroimanes o ventosas electromagnéticas colocados en cada bota, unas planchas, láminas o partículas de material ferromagnético ubicadas en la tabla o tablas sobre las que se colocan y se fijan las botas del deportista y unos medios de transmisión de órdenes de apertura y cierre de los interruptores mediante cables eléctricos y, opcionalmente, por un sistema emisor-receptor de comandos por medio de ondas electromagnéticas o rayos infrarrojos para el control de los interruptores, que puede ser dotado con un dispositivo de reconocimiento de vozThe Automated Automated Control System for Attaching Boots to Snowboards or Skis is made up of rechargeable batteries with electric or solar battery chargers, which can also be of the valve-charger type or similar type integrated in the boot, switches of current, electromagnets or electromagnetic suction cups placed in each boot, plates, sheets or particles of ferromagnetic material located on the table or tables on which the athlete's boots are placed and fixed and means of transmission of opening orders and closing of the switches by electric cables and, optionally, by a command emitter-receiver system by means of electromagnetic waves or infrared rays for the control of the switches, which can be equipped with a voice recognition device
Its basic operation is as follows: the batteries are charged by means of electric current or solar energy (photovoltaic panels). A switch for each boot activates or deactivates the electromagnets corresponding to it, connecting them to or disconnecting them from the rechargeable batteries. These switches are operated directly by the user, either manually acting on them, or by means of orders transmitted by means of an infrared emitter-receiver system with the emitter located, for example, in the gloves, or indirectly through a system of voice recognition that recognizes and interprets the athlete's vocal commands, then passing the command to a transmitter that emits the coded command and that is picked up by a receiver that acts by opening or closing the current flow from the rechargeable battery to the electromagnets located in the boots. All these elements are connected to each other by means of the corresponding cables and connectors when necessary and are located in various parts of the clothing and accessories used by the athlete, these parts being able to not limiting, the helmet, the suit, a backpack, a belt, a fanny pack, gloves, boots and, for some of them, even the boards themselves.
In the case of using electromagnetic suction cups instead of electromagnets, the fixation is produced by permanent magnets, whose magnetic force can be counteracted by the electrical activation of the suction cup, thus creating a magnetic field contrary to that of the magnet when the switch is actuated, by any of the indicated means, producing the release.
The system is completed with a special table or tables that on its surface incorporate plates made of ferromagnetic material on which the magnetic field created by the electromagnets of each boot is closed, thus creating sufficient attraction force so that the table or tables do not come off those boots.

Realizaciones preferentes de la invenciónPreferred embodiments of the invention
Three possible preferred embodiments of the Autonomous Electromagnetic Control System for Attaching Boots to Snowboards or skis are described below. There is a common and equal element for all of them which is the snowboard (or skis), which will be dealt with at the end of this section for the only time, well understood that it is an indispensable part of all the preferred realizations.
1 y 1-A. The first preferred embodiment is represented in Figs. 1 and 1-A. In Fig. 1 the athlete is shown with the suit consisting of an upper body (8), pants (7), a belt (1) and boots (5). Rechargeable batteries are located on the belt or fanny pack (1), with battery electric or solar chargers (2), manual switches (23) and connectors (3). In the pants (7) are located the connection elements that can be fitted into the connectors (3) of the belt, the connectors (4) and the conductive cables (15) integrated in the fabric of the pants that connect these connection elements to the connectors (4). In each boot (5) there is a boot connection element (4b) nestable in the connector (4) of the pants, a connection cable (20) attached to the mentioned boot connection element and the electromagnet or electromagnetic suction cups (6 ) connected in parallel to the cable (twenty). Naturally, the connectors (3) and (4) and the connection elements that fit with them are male and female, with as many terminals as necessary, normally 2, so as to allow the electrical connection between the belts (1) - pants (7) and pants (7) - boots (5).
There are therefore two independent circuits in the fastening control system, each of which separately controls the fastening of the corresponding boot. Its operation is simple because, in the case of using electromagnets, it is enough to manually open or close the corresponding switch (23) so that, if the boots (5) are placed on the surface of the snowboard (22) or skis (26 ), these are released or fixed with respect to it. In the case of using electromagnetic suction cups, the operation would be reverse, with the switch closed, release occurs and with the switch open, the clamping.
Fig. 1A shows a boot (5) in greater detail where the elements of the system integrated in it can be seen.
2 y 2-A. The second preferred embodiment is represented in Figs. 2 and 2-A. In Fig. 2 the athlete is shown with the suit consisting of an upper body (8), pants (7), and boots (5 '). The upper body (8) includes a voice recognition equipment (14) that can alternatively be placed on a support located on the athlete's neck or on the helmet and an issuer of orders (13). Each boot is equipped with, see Fig. 2A, rechargeable batteries (9), integrated in the body of the boot, a valve-charger set (10), connections (21) for connecting the rechargeable battery (9) with the valve-charger (10), a receiver-switch (11), some electromagnets or electromagnetic suction cups (6), some connections (21a) for connecting the rechargeable battery with the receiver-switch (11), and the connection (21b ) connecting the receiver-switch (11), with the electromagnets or electromagnetic suction cups (6) integrated in the lower part of the boot in contact with the ground.
There are therefore two independent circuits in the fastening control system, each of which separately controls the fastening of the corresponding boot but, unlike the first preferred embodiment, its activation or deactivation is by means of different control commands. voice, some for activation and others for deactivation, different for the left boot and the right boot, so which receiver of each boot is programmed differently by means of a control element formed by the voice recognition equipment (14) and the issuer of orders (13). Its operation is simple, since it is enough to say the necessary keyword to trigger the pertinent action, first by recognizing that keyword and second that it has been said by the user so that the issuer (13) issues a coded command that it has received by the receivers (11) of the boots is decoded and executed so that, if the boots (5 ') are placed on top of the surface of the snowboard (22) or skis (26), they are released or subject to said board or skis.
The third preferred embodiment is analogous to the second preferred embodiment except that it is complemented by means of switch-emitters (12) integrated into the athlete's gloves (24).
The boots' switch receivers (11) are activated / deactivated, in addition to the voice, by means of said switch-emitters (12), the command generated by said switch-emitters (12) being priority over voice commands, which gives this equipment greater reliability and safety. Regarding the operation of this third preferred embodiment, it must be said that the voice recognition equipment is analogous to that of the second preferred embodiment described above; In addition, the equipment integrated in the gloves activates and deactivates the switch receivers (11) of the boot corresponding to the same side of the respective button of the emitter switch (12) of the glove (24).
It should be noted however that, for people not experts in these sports, the options explained in the preceding paragraphs regarding that each boot can be controlled independently, may also include the option to program both the emitters or switches and the receivers so that the fastening or release is simultaneous in both boots through the corresponding order, either through a switch or by vocal order. It should also be noted that the control elements could change location within the athlete's clothing, in such a way that they could be integrated into backpacks, glasses, belts or fanny packs, gloves, etc. Fig. 4 schematically shows a view from the bottom of the boot indicating a possible positioning of the integrated electromagnets on the surface of the boot (5, 5 '). The number of electromagnets and their geometric shape (straight line, triangular, quadrangular, etc.) are determined based on the weight and degree of experience of the practitioner in the sport.
Once the nature of the present invention has been sufficiently described, as well as three preferred ways of putting it into practice, it is noted that the aforementioned provisions are subject to multiple modifications of detail, as long as the essence of the invention is not altered, from In accordance with what is indicated in the previous description in a descriptive and non-limiting way.
