  • the outermost holes 19, 20, or else the intermediate ones, or else again the innermost ones may be used. This adjustment may be carried out in an independent way for each of the two lower limbs, possibly also in a differentiated way.
  • the optional shin-guard body 7 of each support 1, 2 is constituted by a shield-shaped shell, conveniently made of a high-resistance plastic material, having a shape for example similar to the one of the so-called "pole-guards" used in skiing for slalom.
  • the shin-guard 7 is fixed on the tibial band 4 simply by means of screws, possibly also in an adjustable way, and at the top it has a portion 24 projecting upwards with a function of guard for the patella or knee-cap.
  • a soft protective pad or buffer 20 is conveniently applied to the internal surface of the guard for the knee-cap 24.

  • the appendage 25, which is typically formed by an arched plate made of plastic material, can be fastened against the leg of the boot by means of an adjustable-closing flexible band similar to the bands 22 and 23 and has the function of providing a substantially rigid connection between the lower part of the support 1, 2 (i.e., the bottom rods 5b, 6b, through the shin-guard 7) and the boot B.
  • FIG. 7 shows a third variant of one of the supports 1 of the device according to the invention, the other support 2 (not represented) being specularly symmetrical.

Abstract

Cette invention concerne un dispositif de protection des membres inférieurs pendant la pratique d'un sport, comprenant une paire de pièces de maintien (1, 2) constituées chacune d'une bande fémorale rigide (3) et d'une bande tibiale rigide (4) pouvant être moulées plastiquement et qui sont interconnectées par deux paires de tiges latérales rigides (5a, 5b ; 6a, 6b) de telle manière qu'elle peuvent pivoter l'une par rapport à l'autre. Les tiges latérales sont raccordées de manière réglable aux bandes fémorales et tibiales (3, 4), la bande tibiale (4) pouvant en outre recevoir un protège-tibia (7).
