Description

The present invention relates to the field of decoration of objects, and in particular to the transfer of images or printed matter (vitrifiable decals) onto heat resistant objects so as to mark and decorate said objects definitively. Objects to be decorated can be metal, glass, porcelain, ceramic, resin, etc. The present invention is applied in particular, but not exclusively, to the production of decorations on jewelry, any fashion accessory or any other medium. A decal intended for this purpose consists in particular of an image layer based on at least one vitrifiable color, an adhesive layer bonded to the image layer and a layer of varnish intended to protect the layer. of image. By the expression "vitrifiable color" is intended essentially to denote a pigment, also called enamel, having a melting temperature generally between 500 ° C. and 1200 ° C. The principle of image transfer by decal consists in applying the image formed in a layer to the surface of the object to be decorated, the image being glued to the surface by means of an adhesive layer. The object to be decorated with the image is then baked in an oven to cause vitrification by fusion of the color or colors composing the image layer. The firing temperature is chosen so that the enamel is sufficiently fluid to spread out and form a sheet of uniform thickness. After the passage in the oven, one obtains a vitrified image layer integrated into the material of the object. There are two types of vitrifiable decals: the so-called slippery decals with water and the decals allowing the dry transfer of the image. French patent application FR24461886 describes an example of a sliding water decal. In this document, the color layer is deposited on a sticky face of a paper support. To apply the decal, the sticky, initially dry, side of the sheet of paper is moistened. Under the action of water, the glue becomes liquid, so that the image layer can be glued to the surface of the object, the paper support having been removed beforehand. The object provided with the image is then passed to the oven to allow the vitrification of the color or colors composing the image layer. Likewise, an example of a decal allowing the dry transfer of the image is presented in French patent application FR2754765. This decal comprises in particular a layer of a sublimable overprint varnish when hot which covers the image layer, as well as an adhesive layer which covers the image layer opposite the layer of varnish. Such a decal is transferred dry to the object to be marked or decorated, then is heated under controlled conditions, which ensures the vitrification of the image layer as well as the sublimation of the layer of varnish and of the layer d 'adhesive.
La température de cuisson généralement employée est de l'ordre de 900°C.However, the methods for producing decorations on the objects as described above have a certain number of drawbacks. In particular, these methods do not offer entirely satisfactory results in terms of the sharpness of the decoration formed on the surface of the object. In addition, the objects, depending on the material in which they are formed, offer a more or less good decor hold. Furthermore, the current technique consists in baking the object affixed with the decoration at a baking temperature corresponding to the temperature with which the enamel constituting the image becomes sufficiently fluid to spread and form a sheet of uniform thickness. The cooking temperature generally used is of the order of 900 ° C.
L'invention a également pour but de permettre la réalisation de décor d'objets à partir de décalcomanies traditionnelles .The present invention intends to remedy the drawbacks of the prior art by proposing an embodiment method for decorating heat-resistant objects whatever their shape and dimensions. The present invention also aims to provide a method for producing a decoration having a good hold on the object to be decorated, whatever the material constituting said object. The present invention also aims to provide a method for producing a wide range of decorations. The invention also aims to allow the decoration of objects from traditional decals.
To do this, the present invention relates to a process for producing a decoration on a substrate capable of cooking, and it is remarkable, in its broadest sense, in that the process comprises the following successive steps: a) depositing 'a first layer of resin on the substrate to be decorated; b) baking the substrate provided with the protective layer under controlled conditions of temperature and duration to cause the polymerization of the resin layer on said substrate; c) depositing a film image forming the decoration on the substrate obtained at the end of the previous step; d) baking the substrate provided with the decoration under controlled conditions of temperature and duration to cause the decoration to dry; e) depositing on the decoration at least or on the substrate provided with the decoration of a second layer of resin after a prior step of cooling the decoration and the substrate. Preferably, the resin layers are based on epoxy resin, polyester resin or polyurethane resin. Advantageously, step b) consists in baking the substrate provided with the resin layer at a temperature between 70 ° C and 90 ° C, and preferably at 80 ° C. Advantageously, the film decoration is cut beforehand to be adapted to the dimensions of the substrate or to correspond to the dimensions of the image. Advantageously, the decoration comprises a layer of screen-printed enamel formed of at least one pigment, said layer of enamel being covered with a layer of varnish. Advantageously, step d) consists in baking the substrate provided with the decoration at a temperature between 70 ° C and 90 ° C. Advantageously, step d) consists in cooking the substrate provided with the decoration for approximately two hours. Advantageously, the resin applied is a neutral resin, colored or comprising material. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the method further comprises a last step consisting in drying the decorated substrate in a substantially hermetic medium.
The present invention also relates to a fashion accessory or equivalent obtained by the method described above. The invention will be better understood using the description, given below for purely explanatory purposes, of an embodiment of the invention, with reference to FIG. 1 illustrating the steps for producing a decoration on an object according to the invention.
The first step 'of the process for producing a decoration on an object (1) formed in a material which can be baked consists in depositing on the object (1) to be decorated a first layer of resin (2). Depending on the desired result, the resin layer (2) can be distributed either over the entire object (1) to be decorated, or over a limited area (or more) area (s) of the object ( 1) to decorate. Advantageously, said resin layer (2) is based on epoxy resin, polyester resin or polyurethane resin. Depending on the type of resin used, it will be necessary, prior to its application to the surface of the object (1) to be decorated, to add a hardener, then to carry out a degassing operation.
Once the resin layer (2) has been deposited on the object (1) to be decorated, the next step is to put the assembly (10) thus formed in the oven. In order to cause the resin layer (2) to polymerize on the surface of the object (1) to be decorated, the assembly (10) is baked at a temperature T1 of approximately 80 ° C. Once the polymerization has been obtained, a decal (3), formed of the image to be transferred and previously cut to the dimensions of the image, is deposited on the layer of resin (2) polymerized to form an assembly (100). In the example illustrated, the decal (3) has dimensions smaller than those of the object (1). Of course, it is obvious to the skilled person that the decal can be cut according to the dimensions of the object (1) to be decorated without departing from the invention. In this case, said object (1) will be entirely coated with said first layer of resin (2). Advantageously, the decal comprises a screen-printed enamel layer formed of at least one pigment, said enamel layer being covered with a layer of varnish.
The new assembly (100) thus formed is then placed in the oven to be cooked. The cooking step is carried out under controlled conditions of temperature and duration so as to cause the decoration to dry. Preferably, the object (1) provided with the decal (3) is cooked at a temperature T2 of approximately 80 ° C. for approximately two hours. Of course, the temperature and cooking time conditions may vary depending on the type of decal employed.
Once the water contained in the decal has completely evaporated, the assembly (100) is subjected to a cooling step, which can be carried out either naturally or in an induced manner.
L'ensemble (100) étant parvenu à un état complètement refroidi, une seconde couche de résine (4) est déposée sur la face dudit ensemble (100) supportant la décalcomanie (3).The assembly (100) having reached a completely cooled state, a second layer of resin (4) is deposited on the face of said assembly (100) supporting the decal (3).
The object (1) thus decorated is then subjected to a step of drying the substrate in a medium in which any humidity and any mixing of air which can generate deposits of dust or the like on the surface of the second layer of resin (4 ) are deleted. As with the first resin layer (2), the second resin layer (4) can be formed from epoxy resin, polyester resin or polyurethane resin. Advantageously, the second layer of resin (4) is identical to the first layer of resin (2) deposited directly on the surface of said object (1) to be decorated. Advantageously, the resin constituting one, the other or the two layers (2, 4) may be neutral or else colored according to the desired appearance. Similarly, the resin may include material to give the object a particular effect depending on the component used and the shape of said component. It could for example be la_powder of mica to obtain an iridescent effect, glitter, stars or any other configuration of aluminum or epoxy resin.
The invention is described in the foregoing by way of example. It is understood that a person skilled in the art is able to carry out different variants of the invention without going beyond the scope of the patent.
