Abstract

An audio-visual content delivery system for delivering audio-visual content to a user terminal, such as a set top box, is disclosed, which comprises an object database for storing data relating to the audio-visual content, and means for accessing the audio-visual content in dependence on the data. Aspects of the invention find particular application in the area of video-on-demand and pay-per-view television systems. Methods of delivering audio-visual content to user terminals and a method of managing user access to a set of data are also described.
