Abstract

The invention concerns extruded posts made of polymeric wood. The polymeric wood, which can also be called plastic wood, is a material which is made from a mixture of wood fibers (of all origins, sawdust, ground chips, ground or shredded shavings, and the like) and of at least one thermoplastic polymer, to obtain a product exhibiting very substantially the appearance of wood and the performance of plastic materials or composites in humid environment. It can be made from recycled materials, and provides the opportunity for upgrading wood residues and used plastic materials or plastic industry waste and the like, in particular by avoiding their being incinerated. The posts can be hollow and can comprise reinforcements (3), with internal passages for passing cables.
