Abstract

Tunnel (a) for mono-hull boat characterized by starting in an opening from the boat poop (b) it elongates longitudinally to the poop/prow direction in the lower part of the hull in the center line of the vessel closing its 5 sides (d) and upper part (e) curving near the prow (c) till it ends in zero bellow the water line (f) of the boat.

Description

TUNNEL FOR MONO-HULL BOAT This invention refers to a tunnel for mono-hull boats. It is characterized by a central longitudinal tunnel (a) localized in the lower part of the hull of the boat, no matter it is a sailing ship, lauch or any other type. This tunnel opened in the boat poop (b), in the longitudinal center line, elongates longitudinally from poop to prow (c). Near the prow the sides (d) and the upper face (e) curve and end in zero in the prow, below the water line (f). The upper face of the tunnel (e) stands over the water line up to the part in which the upper face closes and curves in the prow. The tunnel seen in a transversal cut, may have a rectangular configuration according to figure 3, or configuration in half circular shape according to figure 4. This tunnel allows the enlargement in the width of the boat (mouth) (g), providing better transversal stability with less draught and consequently higher speed. We can assure that mono-hull boats built under these specifications present some of the advantages of a "catamara" type boat with the advantages of a mono-hull boat. The transversal outlines and the external longitudinal lines in the hull follow the tradicional design in use. The annexe sketch n° 1/1 shows: fig. 1 - upper sight, fig. 2 - longitudinal cut B-B, fig. 3 - transversal cut A-A with tunnel in rectangular shape, fig. 4 - transversal cut A-A with tunnel in half circular shape.
