Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé servant à économiser de la puissance dans une station d'abonné. Ce dispositif et ce procédé sont basés sur le maintien d'un mode de sommeil pendant un intervalle prédéterminé, sur l'application d'un mode d'éveil et l'exécution d'une opération de mesure de distance initiale en cas d'échec de la mesure de distance initiale entre la station d'abonné et une station de base un nombre prédéterminé de fois et sur le maintien d'un intervalle de mode de sommeil égal à deux fois le premier intervalle de mode de sommeil, ainsi que sur l'application du mode d'éveil et l'exécution de l'opération de mesure de distance initiale en cas de deuxième échec de l'opération de mesure de distance initiale. Ceci permet de limiter au maximum la consommation de puissance associée à l'échec de l'opération de mesure de distance initiale.
