OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to the scratching of the surface of a flat optical conductor, such as methacrylate, which allows the refraction of the light circulating through it.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓNBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
There are currently two systems on the market that allow the refraction of the light that circulates through an optical conductor. The first of these systems is the one manufactured and distributed by the multinationals PLEXI and ATAOS, companies that have patents in which an 8mm transparent methacrylate sheet is claimed, inside which nanoparticles that reflect the light circulating through are suspended. of the sheet.
The second system manufactured and distributed by the PRIXMEX company. This system consists of a silkscreen of small white dots on the surface of the methacrylate and with a variable density, depending on the distance to the point of light and the thickness of the material. The first system described has the drawback with respect to the invention that concerns us that the light output is lower, as well as the cost thereof, which is considerably higher than that described in this patent.
The second system, although it has a luminous efficiency similar to the one discussed in this patent, has the disadvantage, as in the first case, of its high cost, to which the limitations of its size must also be added.
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓNDESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention at hand is based on scratching the surface of the conductor, to allow the refraction of the light that circulates through it. The scratching of the surface must be very fine, to ensure proper refraction.
If we take a methacrylate iron and apply a light on the side, we see how at the other end a light comes out that has almost the same intensity as we have applied, this means that the light is able to circulate inside of methacrylate.
If we make several stripes on this plate with a sharp object, we will see that these stripes light up when they are illuminated. This is because we are altering the surface of the optical conductor, since said plate should be polished.
If, on the other hand, in said methacrylate plate we paint small white dots, we observe that they also turn on this is because we have dislodged the air that exists between the points and the methacrylate, so this area is no longer conductive. Methacrylate is an optical conductor with respect to air, since there is no air, it stops being conductive.
We have observed that when the surface of the methacrylate is altered by scratching, we observe that if the scratching has made it uniform over the entire surface, the light that is reflected will be much more intense as we approach the point of light. This indicates that in order to achieve a uniform distribution of light there are plenty of light streaks.
This leads us to the need to make a scratch of variable density in order to obtain a uniform distribution of the light. Such scratching should increase in density as we move away from the source of the light. The object of our invention is to make a scratch of variable density that allows the refraction of light evenly and for different widths of methacrylate. To carry out this scratch we will have a non-slip surface conveyor belt of about 8 o lOm. long by 1.5 or 2m wide. On this tape we will place the methacrylate that we are going to treat.
Above the conveyor belt we will place triangles that can be equilateral or isosceles, which will be fixed and that press on the belt, on the methacrylate, by means of three pneumatic pistons. These pistons serve to adjust the pressure of the triangles on the methacrylate.
Between the triangles and the methacrylate plate we will put an abrasive of flexible type in two or three layers, in our case we will use the "ESCOTCH BRITE" as an abrasive. Behind each triangle we will place a static energy arrester, of those existing in the market. This process causes a lot of static energy, which prevents the achievement of optimal results in the scratching process, with the arresters we manage to overcome this problem.
The number of triangles advisable to put in the endless chain and to achieve that in a single pass an optimal scratch is obtained, is five. With this number we get the abrasive distribution defects in each triangle to be compensated with the others.
The size of the triangles will depend on the size of the methacrylate that we are going to treat. The equilateral triangles will have from the same width as methacrylate up to 80cm. more, and in the case of the isosceles triangles these measures would be those of the base of the same.
Once we have fixed the abrasive material to the triangles, and that through the pistons we have given the desired pressure, which will oscillate between 0.5 and 2 kilos depending on the surface of the triangle, we will slide the methacrylate under them by means of a conveyor belt .
BREVE DESCRIPCIÓN DE LOS DIBUJOSBehind each triangle we will put a static energy arrester. This set will be under the effects of a humidifier to ensure optimum humidity throughout the process, which must be maintained at a minimum of 40% relative humidity. According to this system we will be able to treat between 10 and 20m. linear per minute. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
