Description

Chair assembling means
The present invention is related to a an assembling means for a reclining chair 5 back to a reclining chair seat.
When assembling reclining chairs, there is a connection between the seat of the chair and the back, to ensure that correct connection between the strut and the seat, thereby to allow for the angular movement of the head rest in relation to the back when the angle between the back and the seat is altered. 0 Especially for transportation of a chair of the above mentioned type, it is desired to transport the back with the head rest as one unit and the seat as one unit. This, however, means that the parts must be assembled by a trained or skilled person.
It therefore is an object for the present invention to provide a connection between the back and the seat by which untrained persons are able to assemble the chair in a quicks and safe way. This is achieved with the reclined chair according to the present invention as defined by the features stated in the claims.
The drawing discloses in figure 1 schematically the frames of a reclined chair according to the invention, and figure 2 discloses a section through the connection between the seat and the back of the chair. o The rear ends of two pipes of the seat, the steel seat structures 3 both having a straight portion into which a plastic sleeve 2 is inserted and secured by a screw 10 through the seat structure 3 and into a hole in the sleeve 2.
A bracket 1 may have a circular or a rectangular shape in a cross section and comprising two arms being bent in an angle which may be a right angle as disclosed in5 figure 2. A first end of the bracket 1 is journalled to a steel structure 5 of the back in a bearing 11 and to a strut 6 in a bearing 8, connecting the bracket 1 to the head rest structure 7, as disclosed in figure 1.
Movement of the back structure 5 in relation to the seat structure 3 then will cause movement also of the head rest structure 7. o The second end of the bracket 1 having a straight portion and being adapted to be guided into the sleeve 2 thereby pressing a lock 4 even to the inner surface of the sleeve until the bracket reaches a position where the lock 4 can be moved into a recess 9 thereby locking firmly the bracket 1 to the seat structure 3 and thereby the back of the chair to the seat of the chair. 5 The back structure 5 contains two brackets 1 of which one has a longer lower portion to make insertion of the bracket into the sleeve 2 easier as first one bracket is entered and, when correctly guided, the other bracket which is somewhat shorter, is entered into the other sleeve 2 and the two brackets 1 thereafter are guided into each sleeve 2 until the brackets are locked in the sleeve 2. In case the back should be dismantled of what ever reason, the screw 10 may be taken out thereby allowing the brackets 1 to be drawn, out together with the sleeves 2.
The bracket 1 according to the present invention also may be used in chairs without headrests or with adjustable headrests for assembling the back structure 5 to the seat structure 3 in a secure way also by persons not skilled for such assembling works.
