Abstract

Selon cette invention, un procédé permettant de produire de la chaleur en brûlant un combustible azoté avec un oxydant utilise une combustion par étapes dans laquelle l'oxydant intervenant dans l'étape d'allumage initiale est constitué d'air enrichi en oxygène et dans laquelle l'oxydant utilisé pour l'étape de surcombustion suivante est constitué d'air enrichi en azote. L'enrichissement est effectué en fonction des concentrations d'oxygène et d'azote, respectivement, contenues dans l'air ambiant. Ce nouveau procédé produit une quantité réduite de contaminants d'oxyde d'azote (NOx) dans l'échappement de gaz de combustion.
