Abstract

The present invention relates to a plant with improved drought tolerance that is transgenic and/or mutagenized chemically and/or physically, wherein the function of the Cap Binding Protein (CBP20) gene or a homologue thereof is decreased or blocked due to genetic manipulation and/or mutagenization. The invention further relates to constructs used for the manipulation and/or mutagenezis, as well as methods for the production of the plant with improved drought tolerance.
